All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) election committee has rejected Geeta Rana´s candidacy for the post of ANFA president saying she does not have supporters and approvers from ANFA.

ANFA election officials turned away Rana, who had reached ANFA complex Friday afternoon to file her nomination supported by seven District Football Associations (DFA), without accepting her nomination.

ANFA election officials denied Rana from filing candidacy saying her supporters and approvers were not members of ANFA.

Rana´s nomination paper has seven Districts Football Associations (DFA) as approvers and supporters that are not ANFA members, said ANFA election committee co-coordinator Keshav Bhattarai. Her candidacy is not as per ANFA statute as her nomination is not supported by ANFA members.

A former president of ANFA (recognised by National Sports Council), she announced she will move court for not allowing her to file her candidacy.

“The next thing I am going to do is move court”, Rana told media persons Friday. “I will file the case Sunday.”
