» Nepal Police Club crowned National League Champion 2068

Nepal Police Club has won the titles of the First ever Red Bull 'A' Division National League. This is the fourth league title in a row for the police. The unbeaten league journey for Nepal Police Club garnered 21 points and a cash prize of NRs. 25, 00,000/-. The cash prize is the highest ever granted to any winning team in the history of Nepali Football.

Police's title as the National League Champion was confirmed following Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (LHMMC) shared points with Mega Three Star Club in 1-1 draw on 18th January 2012.

Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club finished second position with 19 points. Likewise, gathering 17 points from 9 matches Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club finished third and Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club finished fourth position.

Minister of State for Youth and Sports Hon'ble Gopi Acchami along with President of ANFA Ganesh Thapa handed over trophy, cash prize, medals and certificates to the winning teams and players.

In addition to the titles, outstanding players were awarded for their overall performance in the League. The awards include four categories for players and for the best coach.The category winners' are:

Best Forward – Bharat Khawas (NPC)

Best Mid-Fielder – Bhola Nath Silwal (NPC)

Best Defender – Sandip Rai (LHMMC)

Best Goal keeper – Ritesh Thapa (NPC)

Best Coach – Birat Krishna Shrestha (NPC)

Each title winner was rewarded with a Yamaha (SS125) Motor bike.

Fair play award was given to Tribhuvan Army Club. The award includes a purse of NRs. 50,000/-

The Red Bull 'A' Division National League Football Tournament 2068 saw the participation of 10 club teams from across the country.

Police had won the Martyrs Memorial League titles in 2063 BS, 2066/067 BS and 2068 BS respectively.

Along with this victory Nepal Police Club will get to participate in the upcoming AFC President's Cup-2012.
