Minister KC Inaugurates Futsal League

August 31, 2017 - Minister of Youth & Sports, Rajan KC on Thursday inaugurated the first ever RedBull National Futsal League at Chaur Recreational Center.

The league matches will be held at two different venues -- Chaur Recreational Center, Bansbari and Stupa Futsal Hub, Bouddha.

ANFA president, Narendra Lal Shrestha, General Secretary Dhirendra Pradhan, CEO Indra Man Tuladhar, ANFA Futsal Committee Chairman Ramesh Rayamajhi and ANFA Deputy General Secretary Sanjib Mishra were present on the occasion.

“Futsal has become a very popular sport. The tournament organized by the ANFA will definitely create a platform for young players to showcase their talents. This will help us to uplift the standard of the game itself,” said Minister K.C in his inaugural speech.

He also encouraged the young players to take part in indoor activities like futsal to maintain physical fitness.

A total of 16 teams are in the fray for a cash prize of Rs. 500,000 to the winning team and Rs. 250,000 for the runner-up.  

Similarly, the best players-goalkeeper, defender, forward and mid-fielder-alongside best coach will be rewarded with Rs. 20,000.

The expected cost of the tournament is Rs. 3 million out of which Turnpike, the official event management company, will provide Rs. 2 million, while ANFA will bear the remaining expenses.
