FMT, Lalitpur Metropolitan City sign MoU to organize Veteran's Football

Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has agreed to provide Rs 500,000 to Footballers Mission Together (FMT) to organize veteran's football in the country.

A MoU was signed between LMC and FMT during a programme at ANFA Complex in Satodobato on Thursday.

LMC Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan and FMT Chairperson and former national team goalkeeper Bishnu Gopal Shrestha signed and exchanged the MoU during the programme.

Godawari Municipality Mayor Gajendra Maharjan, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality Deputy Mayor Anjana Devi Madhikarmi, ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa, Vice Presidents Upendra Man Singh and Shixit Parajuli, General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar and other officials from ANFA and FMT were present in the programme.

Satdobato lift trophy with win over RCT, Madhyapur defeat Jhamsikhel

A solitary goal from Maldina Angthupo sealed Satdobato Youth Club's (SYC) victory over Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) as the curtains came down on the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League on Thursday.

Angthupo struck in the 67th minute to seal the victory for RCT.

Champions SYC received cash prize of Rs 1.5 million while runner-up Khumaltar Youth Club (KYC) received Rs one million. Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan handed over the award to the champions.

Similarly, third-placed Around the Himalaya Bansbari Club (BC) received Rs 800,000 and fourth Divine Boys Union Club (BUC) pocketed Rs 500,000. BUC also won the Fair Play Award and won Rs 25,000.

KYC's Anjal Shrestha and Sabin KC received the Best Goalkeeper and Best Forward award respectively. BC's Shiva Gurung was adjudged as the Best Defender while SYC's Dinesh Rai and Sanoj Shrestha respectively won Best Midfielder and Best Coach award.

Winner of individual award received cash prize of Rs 25,000.

In the first match of the day, Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) came from behind to defeat Jhamsikhel Youth Club (JYC) 2-1.

Dhiraj Shrestha scored in the second minute of added time in MYA's win. Manish Khadka had given JYC the lead in the sixth minute but the lead was cancelled by Ronish Dheke Rajbhak in the 37th.

Nepal Army awards ANFA President Sherpa for contribution to football

All Nepal Football President Karma Tsering Sherpa has been awarded by Nepal Army (NA) for his contribution towards Nepali football.

NA Chief of Army Staff General Purna Chandra Thapa handed over the "Chief of Army Staff Commendation Badge" award to Sherpa amid a special function held on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and Army Day in Tundikhel.

Every year on the occasion of Army Day, NA awards distinguished persons for contributing in their respective fields of work.

Sherpa expressed his delight after receiving the award. "I am very happy to receive the award. This is recognition for the goals we have achieved and accountability, transparency we have adopted in the association," Sherpa said.

Sherpa added the award be an encouragement for him to work as the president of ANFA.

Pulchok go down after losing to Nayabasti, Khumaltar finish second

Pulchok Sports Club have been relegated to 'C' Division after losing 2-1 in their final match of the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League against Nayabasti Yuwa Club (NYC).

Only a win for PSC and defeat to Jhamsikhel Youth Club (JYC) would have kept PSC in the division.

Ashok Tamang and Bibek Gurung scored for NYC in the win. NYC took the lead through Tamang in the 19th minute. Shyrab Lo Tamang equalized in the 58th minute before Gurung scored the winner in the 63rd.

In the first match of the day, Khumaltar Youth Club (KYC) defeated Around the Himalaya Bansbari Club (BC) 4-0 and finished second in the league. Aadhil Hamid opened the scoring for KYC in the 13th minute and KYC made it 2-0 before half-time through Prashan Awasthi in the 41st. Ayush Ghalan scored in the 48th and Mahesh Rai found the net in the 77th minute to complete the win.
