SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship: Nepal fall 3-0 to Bangladesh

Nepal suffered their second defeat in the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship, going down 3-0 to Bangladesh at the Changlimithang Stadium.

Bangladesh broke the deadlock in the 41st minute through Thuinuye Marma before Sauravi Akanda Prity doubled the lead just before halftime in the 45th minute. Reya sealed the victory with a late strike in stoppage time (90+2’), ensuring a comfortable win for Bangladesh.

This was Nepal’s second loss of the campaign, having previously gone down 7-0 to India in their opening match. They had bounced back with a 2-1 victory against Bhutan but were unable to replicate that form against Bangladesh. Nepal will face Bangladesh again on Wednesday in their next fixture.

Nepal defeat Bhutan 2-1 for first win

Nepal registered their first victory in the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship with a 2-1 win over hosts Bhutan at the Changlimithang Stadium.

Bhutan took the lead in the 42nd minute through Kuenden Sonam Tshogyal, putting pressure on Nepal heading into halftime.

However, Nepal responded strongly in the second half as Sahara Limbu scored twice, in the 58th and 76th minutes, to turn the game around and secure all three points.

The result provided a morale boost for Nepal following their 7-0 defeat to India in the opening match. Nepal will next face Bangladesh in their third outing of the championship.

Nepal go down in SAFF U-17 Women's Championship opener

India registered a dominant performance as they defeated Nepal 7–0 in the ongoing competition. Displaying attacking flair and clinical finishing, the Indian side took complete control of the match from the early minutes and never allowed Nepal to settle.

Abhista Basnett opened the scoring in the 16th minute and doubled her tally in the 41st, giving India a strong foothold. Nira Chanu Longjam added two goals of her own in the 25th and 56th minutes, while Anushka Kumari struck twice in the 33rd and 62nd minutes to further extend the lead. Julan Nongmaithem also found the net in first-half stoppage time (45+1’), ensuring India went into the break with a commanding advantage.

ANFA bid farewell to women's team for SAFF U-17 Women's Championship

All Nepal Football Associaition bid farewell to the national U-17 team travelling to Bhutan for the SAFF U-17 Women's Championship.

The farewell ceremony was organized at ANFA Complex in Satdobato which was attended by Ex-Co members Purushottam Thapa and Bikash Narayan Shrestha, Deputy General Secretary Damodar Bhattarai, CEO Indraman Tuladhar, among others.

Nepal will face India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh in a double round-robin format, with the team finishing on top of the table being crowned champions
