Two-day capacity building workshop for coach educators begins

A comprehensive two-day capacity building workshop for coach educators is being held to strengthen their understanding and delivery of the FIFA Football for Schools (F4S) programme. The workshop covers the core principles, philosophy, methodology, and contents of the F4S application—a digital toolkit designed to integrate football-based learning and life skills into school education. Coaches and educators from across Nepal are taking part in both theoretical and practical sessions aimed at equipping them to use football as a tool for education, empowerment, and social development.

The opening session of the workshop was held at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato and was attended by chief guest and Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Hari Prasad Lamsal. The session was chaired by ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang. Also present were ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, Executive Committee members Anil Malla and Bharat Budh Thapa, and FIFA Consultant Mazahar Ahmed Mansoor. During the session, President Nembang and General Secretary Rai delivered remarks, emphasizing the significance of the F4S initiative in promoting education through football and reaffirming ANFA’s commitment to developing grassroots football across the country.

Throughout the workshop, participants will receive guidance and training from FIFA Football for Schools Manager Antonio Buenano Sanchez and Technical Consultant Alberto Giacomini, who will share their expertise on how to effectively implement the programme. After completing the workshop, the coach educators are expected not only to deliver inclusive, engaging, and educational football sessions in schools throughout Nepal, but also to transfer the knowledge and skills they have gained to other coaches and educators in their respective districts—ensuring the programme's long-term impact and sustainability at the grassroots level.
