Nepal played a goalless draw against Bangladesh in the second friendly match at Dasharath Stadium on Sunday.

Coach Gary Phillips made three changes from the win in the first friendly with Anjana Rana Magar, Anita Basnet and Rashmi Ghising starting the match.

In a comparatively uneventful but a competitive match, both teams created few clear goal scoring opportunities and failed to find the opposition net.

The best of the chances fell to Bangladesh in the sixth minute when Srimoti Sarkar failed to capitalize on a mistake by Nepali goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar.

Nepal too had chances through Amrit Jaisi and Saru Limbu but did not harm opposition goalkeeper Rupna Chakma.

Bangladesh head coach Golam Robbani Choton said he was delighted with his players' performance. "My players played 90 minutes with high intensity against a tough opponent like Nepal," said Choton. "The games are good for upcoming AFC Qualifying round and it gives us a lot of confidence".

Nepal's coach Gary Phillips said the two games are serving as a purpose for Nepal's preparation for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 Qualifiers in Uzbekistan. "We are obviously disappointed with the way we played. May be that is my fault as I changed the system a bit," said Gary. "We didn't control the game as I would have liked."

Nepali skipper Renuka Nagarkote said the game was good enough but they could not play play as they wanted. "There are new players and a new coach. We have learnt a lot from these matches and hope to correct our mistakes in the future," said Nagarkote.

Nepal had won the first friendly 2-1 in the same venue on Thursday.
