Manang move to top after comfortable 3-1 win over Police in Pokhara

Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) opened a two point lead over second placed Machhindra Football Club (MFC) after a comfortable 3-1 win over Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 in Pokhara on Saturday.

Anjan Bista scored twice and Nishan Limbu scored the other goal for MMC in the top-tier league match being played outside of capital Kathmandu for the first time. Suman Lama scored the goal for NPC.

NPC goalie Roshan Khadka was on fault when Anjan gave lead to MMC in the 10th minute. Khadka rushed out to clear the ball but failed giving Anjan the simple chance to tap the ball into the net.

Suman levelled the game in the 36th minute through a penalty after Nir Kumar Rai was brought own inside the box. Suman's penalty was also the first penalty goal in the league.

Anjan then gave MMC the lead through a free-kick in the 73rd minute and Nishan took advantage of another mistake by NPC's goalkeeper for MMC's third in the 83rd minute.

NPC are ninth in the table after five points from five matches.
