Machhindra Football Club (MFC) extended their lead at the top to four points after a comfortable 4-0 victory over Khukuri Brigade Boys Club (BBC) in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Bimal Gharti Magar scored twice and Rejin Subba and Abhishek Rijal scored one apiece to cruise to a comfortable victory at Dasharath Stadium.

Magar opened the scoring in the 56th minute before doubling in the 62nd. After Rejin Subba scored the teams third in the 84th minute, Rijal rounded up BBC's goalie Gurpreet Singh for the fourth in the added minutes.

When asked about their title chances, MFC's head coach Prabesh Katuwal said they still have four games to play and the title was still not won. "Every teams are good. We are atop the standings but the league has not finished. We should give our best to win the remaining matches," said Katuwal.

BBC's Sanoj Shrestha said they were able to stop MMC in the first half but could not contain the second. "We did a good job to stop them in the first half. But I felt my team was overconfident after a good first half and they scored," said Shrestha.

The second game on Sunday between Chyasal Youth Club and Nepal Police Club has been called off due to Covid-19 outbreak among Chyasal players.
