Machhindra defeat Sankata; NRT, APF share spoils

Defending Champions Machhindra Football Club defeated Sankata Club 3-1 in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Thursday.

Goals from Devendra Tamang, Afeez Olawale Oladipo and Bimal Gharti Magar scored in Machhindra's win at Dasharath Stadium.

Tamang opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Olawale doubled the lead in the 69th minute. Junior Onguene Nkengue pulled one back for Sankata but Bimal Gharti Magar's strike in the 89th minute settled any nerves for the defending champions.

In the other match at ANFA Complex, New Road Team's Lalnunzama scored the opening goal before APF Football Club's Adama Doumbia scored in the additional minute of the game to steal a point.

Lalnunzama scored in the 59th minute of the game and NRT thought it had won all the points before Doumbia scored in the ninth minute of additional time for APF.
