API Power Church Boys United maintained a four point lead over second-placed Jawalakhel Youth Club with a 4-1 win over APF Football Club on Tuesday.
Jawalakhel had earlier defeated Tribhuvan Army Football Club 2-0 to maintain pressure on the league leaders but Church Boys had the perfect response in the final game of the day.
A brace from Ananta Tamang and goals from Mausam Subba and Aashish Chaudhary gave Church Boys the win at Dasharath Stadium.
Subba opened the scoring in the third minute of the game before Tamang doubled the lead in the added minutes of the first half. Tamang added his second in the 55th minute after which APF pulled one back through Awas Lamichhane in the 83rd minute.
But Chaudhary scored one minute from time to give Church Boys the victory.
Earlier, a brace from Nkoto Synous Masoabi had given Jawalakhel the victory over Army.
Masoabi scored the first goal in the 56th minute and added another in the 79th.
Jawalakhel have 37 points from 23 games and are just a point ahead of Machhindra Football Club who play Royal Blue Satdobato Youth Club on Wednesday.
