Bangladesh defeated India 3-2 on penalties and claimed the title of SAFF U-16 Women's Championship on Sunday.
The regular 90 minutes of the game ended in 1-1 draw at ANFA Complex. Anushka Kumari gave India the lead in the fifth minute before Bangladesh levelled through Mariam Binta Hanna in the 71st minute.
Bangladesh's Sauravi Akanda Prity was the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament and their goalkeeper MST Yearzan Begum won the Best Goalkeeper Award. With six goals to her name, India's Anushka Kumari also won the Highest Scorer Award.
Team Bhutan won the Fair Play Award.
Minister for Youth and Sports Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, General Secretary Kiran Rai, SAFF Vice President Sundar Narsingh Joshi, SAFF General Secretary Anwarul Haq Helal distributed the prize to the winning team and players.
