Nepal awarded with 3-0 victory over Malaysia

Nepal have been awarded a 3–0 victory over Malaysia following a decision by the Asian Football Confederation.

The AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee found the Football Association of Malaysia to have committed offences under Article 56 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code.

As a result, the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers Final Round match between Malaysia and Nepal, played on March 25, 2025, has been declared forfeited by Malaysia. In accordance with Article 25.1 of the Code, Malaysia are deemed to have lost the match by a score of 0–3, awarding Nepal the victory.

In addition, Malaysia’s match against Vietnam on June 10, 2025 has also been forfeited, with the same 0–3 scoreline applied.

The Football Association of Malaysia has further been fined USD 50,000, which must be paid within 30 days from the date of communication of the decision, in line with Article 11.3 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code.

Nepal had lost the match 2-0.
