Sherpa thump Chyasal 3-1, move to sixth

Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) defeated Chyasal Youth Club (CYC) 3-1 to move sixth in the table of the Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Saturday.

Mutumba Vunyoli scored twice and Suresh Kumal scored the other goal for HSC. Rumesh Bartaula pulled one back for CYC.

Vunyoli opened the scoring in the 25th minute before doubling in the 57th after a mistake by CYC's Arpan Karki who failed to hold on the ball. CYC pulled one back through Bartaula in the 76th but Suresh Kumal made it 3-1 in the 80th.

HSC's head coach Yugal Kishor Rai said CYC played better football than them but them converting their chances gave them the three points. "They played quality match than us but we scored and got the result. My players also gave their best," Rai said.

CYC's Bal Gopal Sahukhala said defensive errors cost them the match today. "Only positive we can draw from today's match is my players gave their best. With the team not getting the results as expected, I also need to think about my position," he said.

League leaders Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) will play Machhindra Football Club (MFC) in the other match on Saturday.

APF, NRT share points after entertaining 3-3 draw

APF Football Club and New Road Team (NRT) played an entertaining 3-3 draw in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Friday.

APF came from 3-1 down to draw the match at the Dasharath Stadium. NRT scored the first goal through Darshan Gurung in the 32nd minute. Aashish Lama levelled the game five minutes later to score his fourth goal of the tournament. Darshan scored his second three minutes after the restart and NRT maintained a two goal cushion in the 61st through Messouke Oloumou.

But Dipesh Dhimal headed in APF's second in the 65th and Nabin Lama levelled the game in the 69th.

NRT's coach Raju Kaji Shakya said his players could not hold the game after taking the 3-1 lead. "My defenders were not in their position when they got their second and poor man marking allowed them to level the score. We seemed unbalanced and they immediately got back into the game," said Shakya.

APF's Kumar Thapa said they should have won the game but had to be satisfied with a comeback draw. He also blamed the referees for poor decision taking. "I think the quality of referees should be upgraded. We are not happy with referees of this caliber. We work so hard but poor decision by referees let our hard work down," said Thapa.

Nepal Police Club will play Friends Club in the second match of the day.
