Bijaya Bhujel's last minute winner lifts Three Star to fourth

Bijaya Bhujel scored in the last minute of added time as Three Star Club (TSC) defeated Sankata Club (SC) 1-0 in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Saturday.

Bhujel scored in the seventh minute of added time after a defensive lapse by SC. Both the sides had few chances to break the deadlock early on but poor finishing and good saves by both the team's goalkeepers meant the game was goalless.

TSC's head coach Urjan Shrestha was delighted with the win. "I am very happy with the win. We were missing few key players but those who replaced them played very well," said Shrestha.

SC's Bishnu Gurung said he was happy with the team's performance despite the defeat. "Three Star are a good team and they were very aggressive in taking set-pieces especially in the second half. We were expecting a draw but they scored in the last minute," said Gurung.

TSC move above SC in the points table with the win. TSC now have 16 points from nine games, two points above SC, after nine games.

Brigade Boys Club will play league leaders Machhindra Football Club in the first match at 1 pm on Sunday while Nepal Police Club take on Chyasal Youth Club in the second match at 4:45 pm.
