ANFA Referee Course concludes in Dharan 

The seven-day ANFA Referee Course Category-4 course in Dharan has concluded on Tuesday.

Twenty-one of the 51 participants passed the course. 

Chief guest and President of Kepilasagadhi Municipality Samir Rai distributed the certificates to the passed participants.

Fifty-one participants―41 male and 10 women―had taken part in the course.

Pakistan through to semis after Maldives draw, Bhutan stun Bangladesh

Pakistan reached the semi-final of the SAFF U-19 Championship after a 1-1 draw against Maldives on Saturday.

In the first match of the day at Dasharath Stadium, Shanaan Rasheed Rashaad scored the first for Maldives in the 39th minute before Shah Jahan levelled the match six minutes from time.

Pakistan's draw against Maldives means Nepal will have to win against Maldives to make it to the semi-final of the tournament.

In the second match of the day, Bhutan stunned Bangladesh 4-3 to make it to the semi-final of the tournament. Bangladesh, meanwhile, crashed out of the tournament after two losses from two matches.

Md Rubel Shaikh and Asadul Molla scored twice inside 30 minutes but Butan levelled through Jigme Namgyel's goal in the 32nd minute and Kinzang Tenzin's second in the added minute of the first half.

Bangladesh's Razu Ahmed Zisan made it 3-2 for Bangladesh in the 55th minute before Namgyel levelled again in the 68th minute of the game.

Just when the match seemed destined for a defeat, Rinzin Dorji scored six minutes from time to give Bhutan the comeback victory.

Bhutan's win means they have reached the semi-final of the tournament with a game to play and face India in their second match on Monday.

Nepal lose to Pakistan in SAFF U-19, India make winning start

Nepal lost 1-0 to Pakistan in opening match of Group B in the SAFF U-19 Championship at Dasharath Stadium on Thursday.

India defeated Bangladesh 3-0 to make a winning start in the tournament.

In the second match of the day, Ali Zafar scored the only goal in Pakistan's victory over Nepal. Zafar's goal came in the 76th minute of the match. Nepal's goalkeeper Jiyarath Shiekh prevented Pakistan from scoring big after making numerous fine saves in the match.

In the first match, India scored through Gwgwmsar Goyary, Naoba Meitei Pangambam and Arjun Singh Oinam to make light work of Bangladesh. Goyary scored the team's first in the very first minute of the match before Pangambam added the second in the added minutes of first half.

Oinam scored the third in the added minutes of the match to seal the win for India.

Nepal will now face their second match against Maldives on September 25.

Teams hopeful of good display ahead of SAFF U-19 opener

Participating teams of the SAFF U-19 Championship in Kathmandu have expressed to put up a good display ahead of the opening match of the regional youth tournament.

Coaches and Captains from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Nepal addressed the media in the pre-match conference on Wednesday at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Nepal, Pakistan and Maldives are pooled in Group A of the tournament while India, Bhutan and Bangladesh are in Group B of the competition.

India begin the tournament against Bangladesh at 1:30 pm at Dasharath Stadium while Nepal will face Pakistan at 5:30 pm at the same venue.

Nepal's head coach Sunil Shrestha has announced his 23-member squad for the tournament. Two players have been kept as reserves.
