25 players called up for Thailand friendly

Head coach of men's national football team Abdullah Almutairi has called up 25 players for the friendly matches against Thailand national team and Chonburi FC.

Nepali national team will play the friendly against the national side on March 24 while the match against Chongburi FC will be played on March 27. Both the matches will be played in Chongburi, Thailand.

Jhamsikhel earn first victory with win over Boys Union

Jhamsikhel Youth Club earned their first win of the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 after a 3-1 win over Boys Union Club on Tuesday.

The other two matches between Saraswoti Youth Club vs Tushal Youth Club and Shree Bhagawati Club and Nayabasti Youth Club ended in draws.

Akash Bahadur Rana scored the first goal for Jhamsikhel in the 13th minute which was doubled by Man Kumar Rai in the 18th. After Abiral Rijal scored the team's third in the 58th, Bibek Rai pulled one back for Boys Union in the 60th.

In the second match, Saraswoti played a 2-2 draw with Tusal. Dipesh Shrestha gave Saraswoti the lead in the eighth minute. Dhirendra Bahadur Shaha equalized for Tusal in the 60th. A minute later Bikram BIsunkhe gave Saraswoti the lead but Shaha levelled the game again in the 77th.

Shree Bhagawati also played a 1-1 draw against Naya Basti. It was Naya Basti's third draw in a row. Naya Basti took the lead through Ramesh Tamang in the 14th minute but Ramesh Uraw equalized for Shree Bhagawati in the 50th.

Nepal to play friendly against Thailand

Nepali men's national football team will play a friendly match against Thailand national team on March 24. The national team will also play another match against a local team on March 27.
The matches will be played in Chon Buri, Thailand.
The two games will be part of preparation for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Nepal last played friendly's against Maurutius in Kathmandu on January 29 and February 1 winning both the matches.

ANFA marks International Women's Day with AFC Women's Football Day program

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) marked International Women's Day with a special AFC Women's Football Day programme at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Tuesday.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa chaired the programme. General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar coordinated the programme while Women's committee Coordinator Pema Dolma Lama gave a welcome speech.

Students from Manaslu World College performed a cultural dance in the programme. A grassroot camp including students from Chahari Sikshya Sadan was also organized.

ANFA President Sherpa also awarded former Nepali International Manmaya Limbu was awarded in the programme for her contribution to Nepali football.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa also addressed the programme and wished everyone on the occasion of International Women's Day. He added football could be a medium for the empowerment of women. "The recently concluded Deputy Mayor Cup National Women League qualifier tournament and the overwhelming participation reflects the popularity towards the sport. We plan to cash in that and make women's football more sustainable and accessible for all", said Sherpa.

National U-18 women's team member, currently in closed camp, also took part in the programme. Around 200 participants including ANFA Ex Co members, ANFA staffs, former footballers were present in the event.
