APF Football Club receives club licensing certificate

APF Football Club has received the AFC Club License certificate admist a special function at APF headquarters in Halchowk.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa handed the certificate to APF Inspector General Shailendra Khanal.

APF Football Club had received AFC Club License in November last year.

Church Boys, Khumaltar register wins

A first-half blitz including a hat-trick from Ashish Chapagain helped Church Boys United to a 5-2 win over Tusal Youth Club in the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 on Thursday.

In other matches, Nayabasti Youth Club shared points with Shree Kumari Club after a 2-2 draw while Khumaltar Youth Club also won their game against Freedom Export Ranipokhari Corner Team by a scoreline of 3-1.

Chapagain opened the scoring in the sixth minute and doubled the team's lead in the 17th. After Bikas Rai made it 30 in the 21st, Chapagain completed his-hatrick in the 33rd. Gillespye Jung Karki pulled one back for Tushal through a penalty but Kuber Neupane made it 5-1 in the 86th. Uttam Shahi scored with one minute to go to reduce the defecit.

In the second match, Nayabasti took the lead through Abay Dhimal in the 22nd before Srijan Raj Gautam levelled three minutes after the restart for Shree Kumari. Suman Yongya restored Nayabasti's lead but Nir Bahadur Ale equaled again in the 87th.

Khumaltar also started their league campaign with a victory. Dewas Chhantyal opened Khumaltar's account in the 17th minute which was doubled by Bipin Thapa Magar in the 79th. After Anup Gurung pulled one back for RCT, Nawa Raj Gurung scored in the fifth minute of added time to ensure Khumaltar's victory.

Madhyapur Youth Association will play against Samajik Youth Club in the first match to complete the first round of the tournament. The second match will be played between Saraswoti Youth Club and Jhamsikhel Youth Club.

Shree Bhagawati, Saraswoti and Boys Union begin with win

Shree Bhagawati Club, Saraswoti Youth Club and Boys Union Club began their Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 campaign with wins.

In the first day of the league, Shree Bhagawati Club defeated Jhamsikhel Youth Club 3-1 while Saraswoti edged past Bansbari Club with the same scoreline. Boys Union defeated Birgunj United 1-0.

Anil Gurung, Ramesh Uraw and Milan Khadka scored for Shree Bhagawati while Man Kumar Rai pulled one back for Jhamsikhel.

In the second match, Bikram Bisunkhe, Sujan Lama and Bhupendra Shahi scored for Saraswoti in the comeback win against Bansbari whose goal was scored by Bikey Rai. 

Milan Limbu scored the only goal for Boys Union in the third match.

Church Boys United will play Tushal Youth Club and Shree Kumari Club will face Nayabasti Youth Club in the second match on Thursday. The third match will be played between Ranipokhari Corner Team will take on Khumaltar Youth Club.

Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League begins

The Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 has begun from Wednesday.

Secretary at Ministry of Youth and Sports Damodar Regmi inaugurated the event by handing over the match ball to match officials admist a special function at ANFA Complex.

Fourteen B division clubs are taking part in the competition. The league will be played in single round robin format with the top two teams promoted to the A division. Bottom two clubs will be relegated to C division.

The winner of the league will also receive a cash prize of Rs 1.5 million while the second-placed team will receive Rs 1 million. The third-placed team will win Rs 500,000.
