35 players finalized for closed camp of U-16 national women's team

Thirty-five players have been finalized for the preliminary squad of the U-16 national women's team. The team will take part in the SAFF U-16 Women's Championship in Nepal from March 1-10.

Head coach Chakra Tamang, following multiple rounds of selection finalized his preliminary squad of the Championship.

Players selection was held in district, province and central level.

Vijay Ghale appointed ANFA Deputy General Secretary

An emergency meeting of ANFA Executive Committee has nominated Vijay Ghale as the Deputy General Secretary.

The meeting at Heritage Gardens in Sanepa ahead of the ANFA Extraordinary Congress also approved the budget of Rs 43,30,200 for the Congress.

Nepal to take part in 2024 WAFF Women's Championship

The national women's football team will take part in the 2024 WAFF Women's Championship in Saudi Arabia.

A meeting of the Emergency Committee of ANFA, chaired by President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, confirmed Nepal's participation in the biennial international women's football tournament in West Asia competed by the national teams in the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF).

Besides Nepal, Guam, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Syria have confirmed their intention to participate in the competition.

The meeting also confirmed the ticket rate for the upcoming friendly youth football match between Nepal's youth team and Qinghai Youth Football Team of China on February 10th. The normal tickets of the match will cost Rs 300 while VIP seats will cost Rs 500.

The friendly is being organised by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Nepal, National Sports Council and Nepal Tourism Board and is part of 2024 Chinese New Year Celebration in Nepal.

All Nepal Football Association and Nepal Overseas Chinese Association are the co-organizers of the friendly.

The match will be played at 3:00 p.m.

There will also be various shows from Nepal and China in the opening ceremony and half time interval of the friendly.

ANFA Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, Vice Presidents Deepak Khatiwada and Dawa Lama, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Ex-Co members Purushottam Thapa and Maniraj Bista, Treasurer Rabindra Joshi and CEO Indraman Tuladhar attended the meet.

Former U-15 player Yasoda Bohora receives financial aid

ANFA has provided Rs 500,000 financial aid to former U-15 national team player Yasoda Bohora.

ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang had handed over Rs 300,000 to Bohora's father Lal Singh Bohora on September 25 while the remaining amount of Rs 200,000 was handed over on Wednesday by Ex-Co member Bikash Narayan Shrestha.

The emergency Ex-Co meeting on September 10 had decided to hand over Rs 500,000 to Bohora who has suffered a serious spinal injury during training.

Bohora was part of the national U-15 women's team which clinched the SAFF U-15 Women's Championship 2023 title in November 1-11 in Bangladesh.
