Nepal defeat India, reach final of SAFF U-20 Women's Championship

Nepal came from behind to defeat India 3-1 and reach the finals of the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship in Dhaka on Tuesday.

India took the lead in the 21st minute through Apurna Narzary but Anjali Chand, Preeti Rai and Amisha Karki all scored for the comeback win.

Chand levelled for Nepal three minutes after the restart and Rai gave the lead in the 69th minute. Karki all but secured Nepal's place in the final with the third goal in the 89th minute.

Nepal will now face hosts and undefeated Bangladesh in the final for the championship.

Amisha Karki's hat-trick secures first win for Nepal

Amisha Karki scored a hat-trick and Preeti Rai added another as Nepal defeated Bhutan in their second match of SAFF U-20 Women's Championship in Dhaka on Sunday.

Karki gave Nepal the lead in the 19th minute and made it 2-0 in the added minutes of the first half. After Preeti Rai made it 3-0 in the 61st, Karki scored Nepal's fourth and completed her hat-trick two minutes after Rai's goal.

Nepal had lost its opening match against Bangladesh by 3-1. Nepal now should win against India to make it to the final of the competition.

ANFA signs accident and medical insurance agreement with Shikhar Insurance

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has signed an insurance agreement with Shikhar Insurance Company Limited to cover the Group Personal Accident and Group Medical Insurance of A Division League players.

The agreement was signed by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai and Shikhar Insurance Assistant General Manager Prarthana Shahi at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Sunday.

As per the agreement, Shikhar Insurance will provide an amount of Rs 1 million if a player dies in an accident. It will also cover Rs 500,000 as medical expenses for the first five players and Rs 150,000 for the remaining players of the league injured in an accident.

As agreed with the A division clubs during previous meetings, ANFA will pay the premium of national team players while the remaining players' premium will have to be played by the respective club.

The agreement between the two sides will be valid for a year.

ANFA holds discussion with A division clubs, conducts media seminar

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Wednesday held a discussion with clubs over issues including foreign player registration, insurance of players, Pre-Competition Medical Assessment, club licensing and commercial guidelinesANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Kiran Rai, ex-co member Purushottam Thapa, Spokesperson Suresh Shah and competition director Sanjeeb Mishra were present in the discussion from ANFA. Representatives of all 14 A division clubs took part in the discussion.

Following the completion of the discussion, ANFA also organized a Media Seminar with the media officers of all the A division clubs.

AIPS Asia Treasurer and former President of Nepal Sports Journalist Forum Niranjan Rajbanshi and Photojournalists Club former President Bikash Karki briefed the media officers about various aspects.

Earlier, ANFA had played a friendly football match against sports journalists at ANFA Complex. Members from the ANFA Ex-Co, ANFA staffs and sports journalists played out the friendly football match. ANFA won the match 5-1. Sports journalists had taken the lead through Aashish Pudasaini but a double from General Secretary Rai and one goal each from Ex-Co member Bikash Narayan Shrestha, Nabindra Maharjan and Subas Neupane sealed the comeback win in the friendly.
