The news published in The Kathmandu Post with the title 'ANFA misused Qatar World Cup tickets' on January 21, 2023 has brought the attention of the ANFA and we would like to confirm that there were no 'misuse' of the World Cup tickets by the ANFA.
The ANFA had requested the AFC for helping the organisation to secure the FIFA World Cup tickets on behalf of ANFA due to foreign exchange restrictions in Nepal and the tickets were purchased and distributed at the organisation level. The purchasing process was transparent and there were no individual deals for vested motives as claimed by the article.
The ANFA would like to thank the AFC for its continuous support since 2018 on securing the World Cup tickets for Nepal.
