Three matches end in draws as 19th round begins

All three matches of the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Thursday ended in draws.

The first match between Manang Marsyangdi Club and Sankata Club ended in 2-2 draw. Another match between Machhindra Football Club and Friends Club also ended with the same scoreline.

Manang took the lead through Koffi Timothee Koudo in the 19th minute at Chyasal Stadium against Sankata. Sankata fought back in the match through Youssef Atriss in the 43rd but Koudo restored Manang's lead two minutes later. Manish Dangi's 51st minute strike levelled the game.

Manang are seventh with 23 points and Sankata a point below at 12th.

Prakash Budathoki gave Friends Club the lead against Machhindra in the 68th minute. Afeez Olawale Oladipo levelled the match three minutes later before Rafiq Aminu gave Friends the lead again in the 79th. Olawale levelled the game again four minutes later and the two teams had to settle for the draw at Dasharath Stadium.

The draw means Machhindra failed to close the gap with leaders API Power Church Boys United and are third with 31 points. Friends Club are pushed back into relegation zone with 21 points.

Jawalakhel Youth Club took the lead against New Road Team in the 37th minute through Sunil Khadka only for Lalnunzama's leveler in the 50th minute.

Jawalakhel could have topped the table with the win but are a point behind the leaders who have a game in hand. New Road Team are eighth with 23 points.

Church Boys go top, Police overcome APF

API Power Church Boys United climbed to the top of the table after defeating Royal Blue Satdobato Youth Club 1-0 in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Tuesday.

Suvash Gurung scored the only goal for Church Boys in the 63rd minute. Three points against Satdobato takes Church Boys points tally to 33 points, a two points lead with second-placed Jawalakhel Youth Club. Satdobato slip to fourth with 26 points.

In other matches of the day, Nepal Police Club defeated APF Football Club 1-0 to climb over them in the points table.  Moses Gyabaah Twum's strike in the 61st minute was the only goal to separate the two sides at Chyasal Stadium.

Three Star Club and Tribhuvan Army Football Club shared points after a 1-1 draw in the match at Dasharath Stadium.

Three Star took the lead through Laken Limbu in the 69th minute before Dinesh Henjan levelled for Army five minutes from time. Three Star are fourth with 26 points while Army have 25 points and are sixth.

Khumaltar's woes continues after Machhindra defeat; Sherpa, Sankata share points

Machhindra Football Club defeated FC Khumaltar 3-0 to condemn them at the bottom of the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 point table.

In the match at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, a brace from Afeez Olawale Oladipo and Andres Nia Tchounkeu's goal gave Machhindra the victory.

Nia opened the scorin in the 42nd minute for Machhindra. After a goal lead in the first half, Olawale doubled the lead in the 77th minute and added his second in the 83rd minute. Machhindra are now level on points with API Power Church Boys United but behind on head-to-head difference.

In the other match at Dasharath Stadium, Sankata Club shared points after a 1-1 draw against Himalayan Sherpa Club.

Sankata pegged back in the 36th minute when Sherpa's Manuel Nana Agyomang slid for the opening goal. Sankata, however, got back when they were awarded a penalty with Ayush Ghalan stepping up to score from the spot in the 74th minute.

The draw means Sherpa are ninth with 22 points and Sankata 11th with a point behind Sherpa.

Manang steal point against Jawalakhel, NRT draw Friends

Jawalakhel Youth Club missed a golden chance to strengthen their lead at the top of the table after Manang Marsyangdi Club came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and snatch a point on Sunday.

In the match at Chyasal Stadium, Nkoto Synous Masoabi and Hishub Thapaliya gave them the 2-0 lead. Masoabi scored the team's first in the 34th minute before Thapaliya doubled it in the 75. But Bhison Gurung's goal in the 81st minute and Sumit Shrestha's leveler in the first minute of the added time secured a point for Manang.

Leaders Jawalakhel could have taken a three points lead at the top but had to be content with just one.

In the other match at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, New Road Team and Friends Club shared an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Rafiq Aminu gave Friends the lead in the 28th minute but an own goal from Amit Tamang levelled the game for New Road Team. Tamang, however, made amends and restored the lead in the 66th minute from the penalty spot. When Jean Anicet Mboumi missed the penalty for New Road Team with 10 minutes remaining, Friends thought they had won the match only for Nicolas Serge Song scoring one minute from time to level the game.

The draw means New Road Team are eighth with 22 points and Friends have 20 points and are in the 11th place.
