ANFA, Saudi Arabia Football Federation sign football development MoU

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Saudi Arabia Football Federation (SAFF) have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly carry out various activities related to football development.

ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and SAFF President Yasser Al Misehal signed in the agreement at the latter's office in Riyadh. The agreement will be valid for a year.

The purpose of the agreement is to set the framework for the collaboration and cooperation in number of areas and to cooperate in developing strong ties between the two football associations for the mutual benefit, promotion, growth and success of football.

The two associations will explore opportunities for women's and men's national team to play friendly matches. The two sides have also agreed to carry out exchange works related to youth development and youth programme. ANFA and SAFF will also explore various coach training programmes and work in tandem regarding the training of coaches.

Yasser is also a FIFA Council Member and chairperson of AFC Development Committee. ANFA President Nembang is the Vice Chairperson of the Development Committee.

Head coach Annese to conduct tactical training on May 1

Head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese will conduct a second tactical training on May 1 to prepare for the SAFF Championship 2023 to be held from 21 June – 3 July in Bengaluru, India.

Coach Annese has called up 28 players to take part in the training at Dasharath Stadium. The training will be part of the preparations for the SAFF Championship where six nations―Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan―will take part.

Coach Annese had conducted a similar training on April 14.

APF defeat Khumaltar to begin 12th round

APF Football Club defeated FC Khumaltar 2-0 as the 12th round of Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 began on Monday.

In the only match of the day at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, APF's foreign recruit Abdou Ramani Poutougnigni and Armand Beadoum scored for them to secure the win. Poutougnigni scored the team's first in the 26th minute which was doubled by Beadoum in the second half at 70th minute.

APF climbed to fifth in the table after the win with 17 points. Khumaltar are 11th with 13 points.

Three Star defeat Sankata, Sherpa share points with Satdobato

Three Star Club defeated Sankata Club 3-0 in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League 2023 on Sunday.

In another match at Chyasal Stadium, Himalayan Sherpa Club shared points with Satdobato Youth Club after a 2-2 draw.

Martins Kayode Ajayi gave Three Star the lead in the 42nd minute of the match before doubling it in the 47th at Dasharath Stadium.  He could have had his hat-trick in the 51st minute but shot his penalty wide off the bar.

Substitute Santosh Sahukhala scored Three Star's third in the added minute of the game.

In the other match, Dipak Raj Singh Thakuri scored in the very first minute to give Satdobato the lead. Thakuri doubled the advantage in the 11th minute.

Sherpa, after going 2-0 down at the break, scored through Nisan Limbu in the 73rd and Sushil Rai in the 89th minute to deny Satdobato all three points.
