ANFA seeks NSC's support to hold A Division league, handover Chyasal Stadium

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has sought financial support from National Sports Council (NSC) to hold A, B and C Division League.

ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, Vice President Dawa Lama and General Secretary Kiran Rai handed over the letter also requesting NSC to handover Chyasal Stadium and waive fees at Dasharath Stadium to NSC Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising on Wednesday.

The visiting delegation from ANFA also sought NSC Member Secretary Ghising's support to provide  financial award to the players of women's national team, U-17 men's team and U-15 women's team. Nepal won the SAFF U-15 Women's Championship held in Bangladesh while finished runner-up in the SAFF Women's Championship and SAFF U-17 Championship held in Nepal and Sri Lanka respectively.

ANFA has requested NSC to handover Chyasal Stadium and facilitate conduction of footballing activities including A, B, C league, referee activities, grassroot activities among others. ANFA has also requested NSC to waive off fees while organizing various football activities at the Dasharath Stadium.

The letter states ANFA has been facing multiple issues in various fronts to organize the league and stated it's sole effort was not going to be enough to hold them. It has sought financial support from the government and Ministry of Youth and Sports and NSC for Rs 30 million for A Division League, Rs 20 million for B Division League and Rs 10 million for C Division League.

The football governing body has asked NSC to waive charges while holding football tournament in the future at the Dasharath Stadium saying it was unable to pay from its resources.

League Development Programme concludes

The four-day League Development Programme has concluded in ANFA Complex on Monday. The programme had begun from Friday.

UEFA experts Pasquier Eva, Kenny Macleod and Stuart Larman conducted the course. Representatives from 14 A Division Clubs and ANFA officials were present in the meeting.

The experts discussed on various aspects of the league such as marketing and communication, club licensing, capacity building. A question and answer session was held after the completion of each sessions where clubs representatives sought experts views and suggestions on the topics discussed.

The experts suggested ANFA to review the current structure of the league by working out a plan in the next six months and discuss it with clubs for implementation. They will review the plan and also give their inputs if required.

They also suggested the A Division Clubs to strive towards professionalism by exploring various means to be commercially successful. They said clubs in Nepal should focus more on strengthening the youth system and establish strategies and implementation programmes for club licensing.

Open training begins at ANFA Complex

Open training for youths of 8-18 years has begun at ANFA Complex from Saturday.

ANFA will organize the trainings for the age group every Saturday.

Players will have to register by filling the form available in ANFA's website and can take part in the training. They will also have to pay Rs 1,500 every month to take part.

Bista's strike down Pakistan in international friendly

Anjan Bista's solitary strike settled the international friendly against Pakistan in Nepal's favor at the Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday.

Bista scored eight minutes from time to win the friendly for Nepal. Bista stretched on a cross from Sunil Bal to score the goal. It is Bista's fourth goal in two matches for the national side. He had also scored a hat-trick in the 3-1 victory against Bangladesh on September 27 at the same venue.

Having scored 11 international goals, Bista now trails only to Hari Khadka and Nirajan Rayamajhi by two goals.

Pakistan had put up a spirited performance but their comeback in the international stage ended in the narrow defeat.
