Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan prepare for Three Nations Cup opener

Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan Olympic team will face each other in the opening match of the Three Nations Cup 2021 on Tuesday.

A pre-match conference of the tournament was held at Soaltee Hotel on Monday.

Kyrgyzstan Olympic team head coach Zholdoshov Nurbek said the tournament is going to be a good learning experience for his team. "Our preparations have not been as the way we wanted but we hope to put on a good performance against the national team of Bangladesh and Nepal," said Nurbek.

Bangladesh head coach James Day said he has some new faces in the squad. "Nepal are favorites for the title as they are the host nation. We hope to improve our performance. That is our priority for now," said Day.

Nepal's national team coach Bal Gopal Maharjan said their ambition is to improve from their last performance against Bangladesh. "We have a good squad and prepared well. We know a good performance will bring a good result," said Maharjan.

Nepal's vice captain Rohit Chand said they are excited to play in front of home crowd after such a long time. "They are good teams but we have trained well and prepared well for the tournament," Chand also said.

Following the opening match between Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday, Nepal will play against Kyrgyzstan on March 25 before taking on Bangladesh on March 27. The winner and the runner up of the group will play the final on May 29.

ANFA signs medical MoU with Mediciti Hospital

All Nepal Football Association on Sunday signed a medical memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nepal Mediciti.

ANFA's Medical Committee Chairperson Niroj Khadgi and Mediciti's General Manager Bijay Rimal signed the MoU at Dasharath Stadium.

The agreement with Medici covers national team footballers, both men and women, national team players of different age group, players Women's Football League, A, B and C division players, former footballers, former ANFA officials, incumbent executive committee members and members of various standing and other committees.

ANFA has already signed an accidental MoU with Prabhu Insurance which will include national team players, players from 'A', 'B', 'C' division clubs, ANFA staffs, board of directors and academic staffs in case of any accidents.

AFC/ANFA 'A' Licence Course concludes

The third phase of AFC/ANFA 'A' license course has concluded on Saturday.

Following two-round of theoretical phases, the third round was practical held at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Eighteen participants took part in the course conducted by ANFA Technical Director Gary Phillips.

This is the first time in Nepal the course was conducted with ANFA's own curriculum.

The first phase of the course was conducted on November 17-19 while the second phase was conducted on December 9-11, 2020.

ANFA referee course concludes in Birgunj

The week-long Category 4 referee course organised by Birgunj metropolitan city with technical assistance from All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has concluded in Birgunj on Friday. 

Chief Guest and Birgunj metropolitan city Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarawagi concluded the course amid a ceremony.  

There are 25 participants who took part in the course which began on March 13. Six participants passed the course.
