20th ANFA extraordinary congress concludes

The 20th extraordinary congress (General Assembly) of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has concluded at Heritage Gardens in Sanepa.

The meeting was chaired by ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa. National Sports Council Vice President Shiva Koirala was the chief guest of the programme. Besides Sherpa and Koirala, the programme was also addressed by Nepal Olympic Committee Vice President Ashok Bajracharya and ANFA Senior Vice President Pankaj Nembang.

The meeting endorsed the decision to appoint Players Association Chairperson Rajesh Manandhar, Women's Association Chairperson Brinda Dewan and Sankhuwasabha District Football Association representative Gauriman Rai as the observers by majority.

The meeting also approved the nomination fee for ANFA presidential candidate at Rs 15,000, senior vice president and vice president at Rs 10,000 and members at Rs 5,000 by majority.

Khumaltar, Bansbari register wins, Shree Bhagawati held by Tushal

Khumaltar Youth Club defeated Birunj United 2-1 and Bansbari Club and won against Nayabasti Youth Club by 3-1 margin in the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 on Monday.

In the third match of the day, Tushal Youth Club held Shree Bhagawati Club to a 1-1 draw.

In the first match of the day at ANFA Complex in Satodobato, Sabin KC (7th) and Ramesh Thapa (75th) scored for Khumaltar in the win against Birgunj. Aasha Lal Kunwar scored the goal for Birgunj in the 13th minute.

Bikey Rai (4th), Suleman Thapa Magar (25th) and Sanjay Dhimal (85th) minute scored for Bansbari in their win against Naya Basti whose goal was scored by Som Thapa in the 32nd minute.

Shree Bhagawati had taken the lead through Anuj Bhandari in the 43rd minute and looked to have won the match but Bikram Oli scored in the fourth minute of the added time to level the game for Tushal.

Boys Union Club will face Saraswoti Youth Club in the first match at 12:45 pm on Tuesday while Shree Kumari Club will face Jhamsikhel Youth Club in the second match at 4 pm.

APF defeat Police, Dhangadhi edge Chandrapur to go top

APF Football Club and Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City won their respective matches and maintain unbeaten run in the National Women's League 2078 in Bharatpur on Monday.

Preeti Rai and Sabitra Bhandari scored in APF's win over Nepal Police Club in the second match of the day. Rai gave APF the lead in the 44th minute and Bhandari, the highest scorer in last year's league, opened her personal account in the added minute of the game.

In the first match, Dhangadhi came from behind to defeat Chandrapur Municipality 2-1. Rajani Thokar had given Chandrapur the lead in the 44th minute but Dhangadi scored in the added minutes of first half through Birsana Chaudhary and Chandra Bhandari to secure the win.

Both Dhangadhi and APF have similar six points but Dhangadhi lead the table with superior goal difference against the departmental side after completion of round two of the league.

Chandrapur Metropolitan City will play against Biratnagar Metropolitan City in the first match on Wednesday while Tribhuvan Army Football Club will face departmental rivals Nepal Police Club in the second match the same day. The first match will be played at 1:15 pm while the second will be played at 4:15 pm.

Dhangadhi thrash Waling; Nepal Police, Lalitpur register wins

Dhangadhi sub-Metropolitan City thrashing Waling Municipality Syangja 6-0 in the National Women's League 2078 on Friday.

In other games, Nepal Police Club defeated Biratnagar Metropolitan City 2-0 and Lalitpur Metropolitan City won Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat 1-0.

Chandra Bhandari scored four and Sima Rawal and Anjana Thulung Rai scored one each for Dhangadhi.

Rawal opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Bhandari added a second in the 30th. She scored her second five mintues later and completed her hat-trick in the 47th minute. After Anjana scored in the 70th, Bhandari added team's sixth and her fourth in the 83rd minute.

In the second match of the day, Lalitpur edged Rautahat with Bisnu Sambahamfe scoring the only goal in the fifth minute of added time. Bisnu scored the only goal in the

Nirmala Upadhyay double saw Nepal Police defeat Biratnagar 2-0 in the third match of the day. Upadhyay scored in the 25th and 33rd minute in the win.

The first round of matches of the league has completed. The second round matches begins from Sunday.
