Biratnagar edge Dhangadhi, Police down Chandrapur

Biratnagar Metropolitan City defeated Dhangadi sub-metropolitan city 1-0 and Nepal Police Club edged Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat 2-1 in the National Women's League 2078 on Wednesday.

Bipana Rai scored one minute from full time in Biratnagar's win.

Biratnagar are fifth on the table with 10 points from five games.

In the second game of the day, goals from Manisha Raut and Rekha Poudel helped Nepal Police to a 2-1 win over Chandrapur. Rojina Shrestha scored the goal for Chandrapur. Nepal Police are second while Chandrapur are seventh on the table.

Promotion battle goes to final round after Khumaltar's victory, Jhamsikhel relegated

Khumaltar Youth Club defeated Nayabasti Youth Club 4-0 on Wednesday and ensured their promotion battle against Ranipokhari Corner Team will go to the final round in the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078.

On the day which confirmed Jhamsikhel Youth Club's relegation to C Division, Khumaltar needed a win to stay in promotion hunt and delivered in style.

Bikrant Narsingh Rana's double in the added time after Sabin KC and Aashish Shrestha's goals earlier gave Khumaltar a comfortable win against Nayabasti. KC scored in the 19th minute and Shrestha had scored in the 74th. Rana then scored twice in the space of three minutes of added time to secure the win.

Second-placed RCT with 21 points are two points above Khumaltar on third. If RCT win their final match against Tushal Youth Club, they will be promoted to A Division. But if they fail to win and Khumaltar win their final match against Samajik Youth Club, Khumaltar will go up.

The battle to escape relegation at the bottom will also go to the wire as Boys Union Club defeated Madhyapur Youth Association 1-0 in the first match of the day. Riwosh Maskey scored the only goal in the 20th minute.

Suresh Khatri's double in the sixth and 45th minute gave Samajik Youth Club a much-needed win against Tushal Youth Club. Following Jhamsikhel's relegation, Madhyapur, Tushal, Samajik Youth all are fighting the battle in the final day to escape relegation.

Army thump Waling, APF defeat Lalitpur

Tribhuvan Army Football Club thumped Waling Municipality Syangja 10-0 and APF Football Club defeated Lalitpur Metropolitan City 4-0 in the National Women's League 2078 on Tuesday.

Sapana Lama scored a hat-trick, Sharmila Thapa Magar scored a brace and Rashmi Ghising, Amisha Karki, Hema Chaudhari and Kusum Khatiwada all got into the scoresheet for Army.

Army are third in the table after win while Waling are at the bottom.

In the other match of the day, goals from Sabitra Bhandari, Hira Kumari Bhujel, Saru Limbu and Renuka Nagarkote helped APF to a win over Lalitpur.

Lalitpur had stopped APF from scoring in the first half but relented after Bhandari got the opener in the 62nd minute. Bhujel doubled the advantage in the 68 and Limbu and Nagarkote scored in the added minutes of the game for APF.

APF maintained their cent percent result and are top of the standings with 15 points.

Church Boys crowned B Division Champions

Church Boys have been crowned the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League Champions and have been promoted to the A Division League with a game in hand after hammering Bansbari Club 5-1 on Tuesday.  

Saimon Limbu scored four and Aashish Chaudhary scored the other as they clinched the championship in style.

Limbu scored in the seventh, 37th, 41st and 81st minute in Church Boys win. Chaudhary scored the other in the 17th while Sanjay Dhimal pulled one back for Bansbari in the 58th minute.

In other matches of the day, Shree Kumari Club overcame Shree Bhagawati 3-1 and Ranipokhari Corner Team defeated Saraswoti Youth Club 2-1.

Nir Bahadur Ale (17th), Srijan Raj Gautam (21st) and Raj Bhusal (44th) scored for Shree Kumari after Anuj Bhandari gave Shree Bhagawati the lead in the third minute.

RCT are one step away from promotion after defeating another promotion hopeful Saraswoti Youth Club 2-1. RCT will be promoted if they win their final league match against Tusal Youth Club. Saraswoti's chances of promotion ended after today's defeat.

Bikram Bisunkhe had given Saraswoti the lead in the 10th minute before Amar Dangol levelled in the 25th and Amrit Gurung secured three vital points with one minute remaining.
