Nepal suffer defeat against Bangladesh

Bangladesh came from behind to defeat Nepal 2-1 in the SAFF U-18 Women's Championship in Jamshedpur on Wednesday.

Amisha Karki had given Nepal the lead in the fourth minute by rounding off the goalkeeper but Bangladesh fought back with goals from Shamsunnahar and Shahada Akter Ripa to claim the victory and keep their title hopes alive.

Shamsunnahar scored in the 69th minute before Ripa completed the win in the 83rd.

Nepal's title chances had already finished after losing 5-1 to India on Tuesday. Nepal had also lost opening match of the tournament against India by a margin of 7-0. Bangladesh had condemned Nepal to second consecutive defeat with a 4-2 victory.

Church Boys go top with comeback win, Birgunj thrash Saraswoti

Church Boys United moved to the top of the standing after thumping Boys Union Club 6-1 while Birgunj United thrashed Saraswoti Youth Club 5-0 in the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League.

Boys Union took the lead through Arun Limbu in the eight minute but Church Boys scored six times to complete the rout.

Saimon Limbu levelled in the 10th minute before Ashish Chapagain made it 2-1 in the 21st minute. After Aashish Chaudhary scored the team's third in the 36th minute, Yogesh Gurung made it 4-1 in the added minutes of the first half.

Chapagain then scored his second in the 53rd before Anil Dhami added a late sixth in the third minute of added time in the win.

Kripakant Mahato Tharu scored four goals in Birgunj's thrashing of Saraswati.

Tharu scored in the 35th, 54th, 84th and the first minute of added time for Birgunj. Bibek Chaudhary scored the other goal in the 72nd.

The first match between Tushal Youth Club and Shree Kumari Club ended in 1-1 draw.

Shree Kumari scored the first goal through Aruj Singh in the sixth minute but Dhirendra Bahadur Shaha levelled in the 84th minute for Tushal. This was seventh draw for Shree Kumari in as many games.

Shree Bhagawati Club play Bansbari Club in the first match on Wednesday at 12:45 pm while the second match between Madhyapur Youth Association and Jhamsikhel Youth Club will be played at 4 pm.

Nayabasti defeat RCT to go top, Madhyapur down Khumaltar

Nayabasti Youth Club moved to the top of the standing after a 1-0 defeat over Ranipokhari Corner Team in the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 on Monday.

In the third match of the day, Lila Bahadur Thapa Magar scored six minutes from time to give Nayabasti the victory at ANFA Complex.

Madhyapur defeated Khumaltar with the same scoreline in the second match. Sajin Thapa Magar's goal in the 16th minute proved to the be difference between the two sides.

Basanta Bahadur Rana's goal in the sixth minute gave Samajik Youth Club a 1-0 victory over Jhamsikhel Youth Club.

Tushal Youth Club will play Shree Kumari Club in the first match on Tuesday at 9:30 am. The second match between Boys Union and Church Boys United will be played at 12:45 pm and the third match at 4 pm will be played between Saraswoti Youth Club vs Birgunj United.

Nepal succumb to another India defeat

India comfortably defeated Nepal 5-1 and ended their diminishing chances in the SAFF U-18 Women's Championship in Jamshedpur on Monday.

It was an improved performance as compared to the 7-0 defeat in the opening match but India still were the better side and comfortably defeated Nepal at JRD Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.

Forward Lynda Kom Serto scored a hat-trick in the win for India. Shilky Devi Hemam headed in India's first in the 16th minute through a header from a corner. Serto doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute and gave a 3-0 lead by halftime with another goal in the 38th.

Anita Kumari scored a long ranger scorcher in the 56th minute and Serto's fifth in the 61st, which also completed her hat-trick, ended Nepal's run in the championship.

Sadipa Bholan scored a consolation for Nepal in the 79th minute after a howler by Indian goalkeeper. Nepal had to win today's game by a big margin to have any hopes of claiming the championship.

Nepal will now play its final match of the championship against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

India currently lead the championship with nine points from three matches and are in prime position to secure the title.
