Shree Bhagawati go top, Nayabasti register first win

Shree Bhagawati Club moved to the top of the table of the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 after a 3-2 win over Samajik Youth Club on Friday.

Shree Bhagawati had taken a 2-0 lead through Santosh KC in the 35th and Anil Gurung in the added minute of first half. Samajik Youth, however, levelled the score 2-2 with goals from Bikash Titung in the 50th and Basanta Bahadur Rana in the 60th. Six minutes later, Anuj Bhandari scored for Shree Bhagawati to claim all the points for the side.

In the first match, Nayabasti Youth Club claimed their first win after three consecutive draws with a 3-2 victory over Boys Union Club. Nayabasti took the lead in the 17th minute through Suman Yongya but Binod Rai levelled for Boys Union in the 39th. Boys Union took the lead through Riwosh Maskey in the 51st but Roshan Angdembe levelled in the 69th. Som Thapa then scored in the 83rd minute and gave Nayabasti their first win.

Saraswoti Youth Club came from behind to defeat Khumaltar Youth Club 2-1 with goals from Anish Pariyar in the 49th and Arjun Gurung in the 85th. Sabin KC had given Khumaltar the lead in the 27th minute.

Saraswoti moved to third in the table with eight points from four games. Defeated Khumaltar are fifth with six points.

ANFA bids farewell to U-18 national women's team

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bid farewell to the U-18 national football team on Friday.

The team is flying to India to take part in the SAFF U-18 Women's Championship to be held in Jamshedpur, India from 15-25 March.

Chief guest National Sports Council Vice President Shiva Koirala bid farewell to the team at ANFA Complex. Chief guest Koirala and ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa wished the team well for the competition.

ANFA Vice President Shixit Parajuli, General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar, Ex Co member Pradesh Singh Rathour, Women's Association President Brinda Dewan, Women's Committee Chairperson Pema Dolma Lama were also present in the programme.

Three teams―Nepal, India and Bangladesh―are playing in the championship. The championship will be played in a double-round robin format with the team with highest point become the champion.

Shree Kumari, RCT share points; Tushal, Jhamsikhel also ends in draw

Shree Kumar Club and Ranipokhari Corner Team played a 1-1 draw while the other match between Tushal Youth Club and Jhamsikhel Youth Club ended in goalless draw in the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division League 2078 on Thursday.

Srijan Raj Gautam had given Shree Kumari the lead in the fourth minute but Prajwal Gurung levelled just a minute later for RCT.

Shree Kumari, having played three draws, are eight in the table with three points while RCT are sixth with four points.

Tushal are 12th and Jhamsikhel are fifth in the table.

Boys Union Club will play Nayabasti Youth Club in the first match at 9:30 am on Friday. The second match of the day between Saraswoti Youth Club and Khumaltar Youth Club will be played at 12:45 pm and the third match between Shree Bhagawati Club and Samajik Youth Club at 4 pm.

All the matches will be played at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Final squad of U-18 national women's team announced

The final squad of U-18 national women's team has been announced.

Head coach Darshan Bhakta Raj Lawat has announced his final squad for the SAFF U-18 Women's Championship to be held in Jamshedpur, India from 15-25 March. The team will leave for the competition on Saturday.

Three teams―Nepal, India and Bangladesh―are playing in the championship. The championship will be played in a double-round robin format with the team with highest point become the champion.
