FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Asia to be rescheduled in 2021

FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup Preliminary Joint Qualification round 2 matches which were scheduled to be played in October and November 2020 have been postponed owing the Covid-19 outbreak.

With the attention that most of the participating members are facing serious issues with the preparation of the matches due to the continued travel restrictions imposed by the various Government along with flight cancellations not to mention strict medical requirements for international travel.

Considering the above and in light of the current Covid-19 situation in many countries, FIFA and the AFC have jointly decided today that the upcoming qualifying matches if the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup PR 2023, originally scheduled to take place during the international match windows in October and November 2020 will be rescheduled in 2021.

"With the aim of protecting the health and safety of all participants, FIFA and the AFC will continue to work together to closely monitor the situation in the region and to identify new dates of the respective qualifying matches," writes the AFC in a official letter sent to the PMA's.

"Further details on the new dates for the next round of the qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and Asian Cup 2023 will be announced in due course," also says the AFC.

Swab sample of National Team Players and Officials collected

Swab collection for PCR test of COVID-19 of all the National team players, officials, hostel and kitchen staffs has finished today.

The results of the samples collected yesterday will be revealed tomorrow and the results for the samples collected today will be revealed on Thursday.

Players with negative reports will be kept in closed camp at ANFA hostel. 

The national team training will begin from Aug 17.

As part of the Asian qualifiers of FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023, Nepal will host Chinese Taipei, Australia, and Jordan on October 8, October 13, and November 12 respectively at the Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu.

Online Reporting System of Coaching Workshop conducted

Organized by the ANFA Technical Department, ANFA today conducted Online Reporting System of Coaching Workshop joined by Province 5,6 and 7.

Over 20 coaches from Province 5,6 and 7, consisting of district coaches, province grassroots head, province youth head, province women's head and province coach education head  joined the workshop which have focused on Online Reporting System of coaching activities and sessions.

The workshop comprised of various topics including the coaches to awaked with system. The online system has to be updated regularly with the day-by-day footballing activities along with the photos, details of players, training venues and time.

The technical department at the ANFA Headquarter will closely monitor and analyze the coaching activities running across the country through the online system updated by the coaches.

ANFA Technical Director Gary Phillips, Co-ordinator of Grassroots and Youth Department and ANFA Vice President Upendra Man Singh, Sanjeet Singh (Head of Coach Education), Nabin Maharjan (Head of Elite Youth Program), Hari Khadka (Head of Women's Department) and Manoj Ranjit (Grassroots Manager) conducted the workshop.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa welcomed and addressed the participants and presenters in the workshop.

A three-day ANFA Online Refereeing Course begins today.

A total of 18 participants are taking part in the course that is being conducted by Buddhi Bahadur Gurung, Shree Ram Ranjitkar, Gajendra Man Singh, Kalpana Sharma, Laba Khatri and Sailesh Joshi.
