Final Round of Kwik's Cup kicks off

The final round of Kwik's Cup Inter-School National Football Tournament kicked off on Sunday at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato, Lalitpur.

Sainik Awasiya M.B and Super Sense English Boarding School played a goalless draw in the inaugural match in Pool 'A' fixture.

In the second match, the old Capital Secondary School and Sagarmatha Secondary School played a 2-2 draw. Sishant Pariyar (23') and Britant Ale Magar (37') scored for the Old Capital while Manoj Ghimire (20')  and Gyanendra Bhandari (39') netted for Sagarmatha.

Likewise, Shree Narayan Janata thrashed Bhaktapur English School 9-0. Bishwo Kumar Syangtan (2', 13'), Suraj Kumar Shah (6'), Dilip Moktan (8', 42'), Prabeen Kumar Syangtan (46', 53'), Nishal Gole (52') and Dal Khapanghi (63') scored for Shree Narayan Janata. 

Sainik Awashiya, Kaski also registered 1-0 over Triyuga Namuna Secondary in the last match of the day. Sushant Thapa scored the match winner in the 34th minute for Sainik Awashiya. 

A total of 16 boy's teams and 12 girls team have qualified for the final round of the largest youth football tournament.

The girl's tournament will begin from 6-13 December, 2019.

Top four teams in both the category will be awarded with Rs. 300, 000, Rs. 150,000, Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50, 000 respectively.

Football Draw Ceremony conducted for 13th SAG

The official draw ceremony for 13th South Asian Games (SAG) Men's Football and Women's Football has been conducted at the ANFA House today.

Six teams in the men's category and four teams in the women's category discovered their opponents for the competition.

Men's Football will see 6 teams divided into two groups, with the respective group winners and runner-up advancing to the semis.

In Group A, hosts Nepal will have Bangladesh and Bhutan while Group B has India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, four teams i.e. India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives will compete in the Women's Football of the SAG in Pokhara from 3-9 December, 2019.

The Women's football will be played in single round robin seeing top two teams playing in the finals.

ANFA Vice-President and Chairperson of the draw ceremony, Deepak Shahi, Deputy Director of Training and Coaching Department NSC and Chief Football Coach NSC, Milan Hada were present in the draw ceremony.

ANFA Fitness Coaching Certificate Course 2019 - Level 1

AFC Fitness Coaching Certificate Course 2019 - Level 1 has started today at ANFA Complex. This is the first ever Fitness course in Nepal. The instructor for the course is Dr. Mohammed Thiyad. Thiyad is an AFC and FIFA  Fitness Instructor from Jordan. The course with 25 participants taking part will last for five days. (Nov 20- - Nov 25).

The participants are the 'A/B' licensed coaches and most of them are coaches from A division clubs and different districts.

Acting President of ANFA, Pankaj Nembang, was present in the opening ceremony. Nembang welcomed all the participants and the instructor. He believed that all the participants will be benefited by this course and also wished for the successful completion of the course.

Team Nepal confident to bounce back ahead of Kuwait clash

Nepal will play Kuwait tomorrow at the Chaglimithang Stadium, Thimpu, Bhutan in their FIFA WC 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers match.

The Changlimithag Stadium will serve Nepal as the home venue.

"It’s an important game for us. We really need to bounce back. We will fight hard. I need to focus on the players that we have here. My players are in good mood all the way from airport and are ready to fight hard," Head Coach Kalin said in the pre-match press conference.

"We will look for good performance like the other game. Kuwait has been doing very well in the qualifiers but we are confident," he added.

Likewise, head coach of Kuwait football team Thamer Enad said, "We hope that we will play good match and take the three points. We are not going to take Nepal lightly; Nepal is not a weak team. The atmosphere will favor Nepal for sure. They have the same kind of weather in Nepal as well."

"We will play for three points and stand second on the group. Our players are no so familiar playing in the artificial turf but few of my boys have experience playing at the turf," Thamer added.

Nepal's skipper Kiran Kumar Limbu also said the team is ready to give their tough fight against Kuwait.
