ANFA CAT-4 Referee Refresher & Promotion Course begins

The ANFA Referee Refresher and Promotion Course for Category four referees began at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Friday.

The three-day course will conclude on Sunday.

ANFA Deputy General Secretary Arun Man Joshi, CEO Indraman Tuladhar, President of ANFA Referee Association Buddhi Gurung, among other instructors and participants took part in the opening ceremony.

The ANFA Referee Refresher & Promotion Course for CAT-4 referees is a comprehensive program designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of referees at this level.

The course focuses on providing updated training aligned with the latest FIFA rules and regulations, ensuring uniformity and professionalism in officiating.

It includes theoretical sessions to discuss the laws of the game, analyze case studies, and improve decision-making. Practical training features on-field simulations, fitness drills, and match situation analysis to prepare referees for real-world challenges.

ANFA begins Referee Refresher Course for Category III referees

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has inaugurated a Referee Refresher Course for Category III referees, aimed at updating and enhancing their officiating skills on Monday. The course, which began on December 23, will run until December 25, 2024, and features the participation of 28 referees from various parts of the country.

The inaugural session, held at the ANFA Complex, was officially opened by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai. In his address, Rai highlighted the significance of such courses in ensuring referees are well-equipped to handle the evolving demands of modern football. ANFA Ex-Co member Tika Lama also addressed the program and extended his best wishes to the participants, encouraging them to make the most of the learning opportunities provided.

The three-day course focuses on key aspects of refereeing, including updates to the FIFA Laws of the Game (LOTG), decision-making, positioning, and match control.

Nepal U-19 women's team draws 1-1 against Bhutan in friendly match

Nepal's U-19 women's football team played to a 1-1 draw against Bhutan in an exciting friendly match at the Dasharath Stadium. This was the second match of the International Youth Friendly series between the two nations, following the U-16 match earlier this week.

The game was inaugurated by ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, who handed over the match ball to the officials before kick-off.

Nepal took the lead early in the second half, with Sushila K.C. finding the back of the net in the 48th minute. However, Bhutan fought back, and Phuntsho Choden scored the equalizer in the 80th minute, ensuring the match ended in a stalemate.

This match followed Nepal's U-16 women's team's heavy 5-1 loss to Bhutan in the first game of the series on December 20.

AFC B Diploma Goalkeeping Coaching Course (2nd Module) kicks off

The AFC B Diploma Goalkeeping Coaching Course (2nd Module) began on Saturday at the ANFA Complex, with 11 goalkeeping coaches from across the country participating in this advanced-level training program. The course aims to elevate the standards of goalkeeping coaching and contribute to the development of Nepalese football.

The event was inaugurated by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, who highlighted the importance of specialized training programs for football coaches.

The AFC B Diploma Goalkeeping Coaching Course provides an in-depth focus on advanced goalkeeping techniques, tactical awareness, player development, and psychological aspects of coaching. Participants will engage in both theoretical sessions and practical training, ensuring they acquire the skills necessary to coach at higher levels, including professional clubs and national teams.

Led by AFC Instructor Gumpe Rime, the course includes real-time analysis and modern approaches to goalkeeping, preparing participants to handle the dynamic demands of today’s game.
