Onsite AFC Refereeing STAR Programme begins

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has commenced the Onsite AFC Refereeing STAR Programme as part of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Association (MA) Refereeing Administration Project 2022. Running from December 9 to December 12, the programme is hosting 34 referees, including FIFA referees, FIFA Assistant Referees and Category I, II and III referees.

The opening ceremony was graced by ANFA General Secretary, Kiran Rai, who inaugurated the programme and wished the participants success in their training. Rai emphasized the importance of referee education in improving the quality of football.

The course is being conducted by a group of AFC officials, including Chang Seok Rhee, Head of Competitions Operations at AFC; Sukhbir Singh, AFC Elite Referee Instructor; Youngin Choi, AFC Elite Referee Fitness Instructor; and Suresh Srinivasan, AFC Elite Referee Instructor.

The Onsite STAR Programme is an essential part of the AFC's ongoing efforts to develop and improve the skills of football referees. The course includes a range of unique educational modules, integrating the latest technological advances to enhance the delivery of AFC’s education programmes and ensure referees are equipped with up-to-date knowledge.

ACQ2027: Nepal drawn alongside Vietnam, Laos and Malaysia

Nepal has been drawn in Group F for the final round of qualifiers for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.

Nepal have been drawn alongside Vietnam, Laos and Malaysia in the draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Monday.

The Qualifiers will kick on March 25, 2025 with the teams to play on a home and away basis.

The 24 teams were divided into six groups with only the group winners to advance to the Finals.

Martyr's Memorial B Division League 2024: Clubs receive pending payments and prepare for January kickoff

The clubs participating in the Martyr's Memorial B Division League have now received the pending payments from the previous League. Each of the 14 participating clubs was entitled to Rs 1.25 million, with Rs 650,000 previously pending. By Tuesday, all clubs received the remaining balance.

In addition, six clubs—Jhapa Football Club, Planning Boys United, Shree Bhagawati Club, Birgunj United, Bansbari Club, and Shree Kumari Club—have received Rs 870,000 each, which is 60% of the preparation money for the upcoming League scheduled to begin on January 26, 2024 (Magh 13, 2081). ANFA has allocated Rs 1.45 million to each club for preparation.

ANFA and the participating clubs had met on November 21, establishing a timeline for the League. According to the timeline, clubs must complete their registrations by December 6 (Mangsir 21). Following that, a FIFA Connect Workshop will be held on December 8-9 (Mangsir 23-24), and a Club Licensing Workshop is scheduled for December 10-11 (Mangsir 25-26) to ensure that all clubs meet the required standards.

Martyr’s Memorial B Division League to kick off on January 26

The much-anticipated Martyr’s Memorial B Division League is set to begin on January 26 (Magh 13, 2081). This decision was finalized during a crucial meeting between the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and participating clubs held on Thursday.

To facilitate smooth preparations and maintain the league’s standards, ANFA and the participating clubs have agreed to a clear and strict timeline leading up to the tournament.

According to the schedule, club registrations must be completed by December 6 (Mangsir 21). Following this, a FIFA Connect Workshop will be held on December 8 and 9 (Mangsir 23 and 24) to familiarize clubs with FIFA’s digital player registration system. Additionally, a Club Licensing Workshop is set for December 10 and 11 (Mangsir 25 and 26), ensuring all teams meet the necessary standards and criteria.

The fixtures of the tournament will be drawn on December 28 (Poush 13) with the tournament beginning from January 26.
