Kiran Rai appointed as ANFA General Secretary, Rabindra Joshi Treasurer

The first meeting of newly-elected Executive Committee of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) appointed Kiran Rai as the General Secretary and Rabindra Joshi as the Treasurer of the association.

Both the names were proposed by President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and approved by the members. Rai was a former spokesperson of the organization while Joshi will continue in the post he held earlier.

The meeting also appointed Nabin Pandey as the head of ANFA's International Relations.

The meeting also thanked all stakeholders for successfully conducting the 21st General Congress.

ANFA President, newly elected Ex Co sworn in

Pankaj Bikram Nembang has been sworn in as the new President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). Members of newly elected Executive Committee have also been sworn in amid a special function at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

Election Committee coordinator Shreeram Dawadi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-elected Ex-Co.

Following the administration, ANFA President Nembang assumed his office at ANFA Complex.

Nembang thanked outgoing ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar, Election Committee, media and ANFA staffs for their role in the election process.

Pankaj Bikram Nembang becomes new ANFA President, Bir Bahadur Senior Vice Prez

Pankaj Bikram Nembang has won the ANFA Presidential Election defeating his opponent Karma Tsering Sherpa in the 21st ANFA Ordinary Congress 2022 at Hotel Park Village Resort in Kathmandu.

Nembang secured 45 votes to Sherpa’s 39 to secure the next four year term.

Bir Bahadur Khadka won the Senior Vice President election defeating Shixit Parajuli. Khadka secured 44 votes to Parajuli’s 40.

Similarly, Dawa Lama, Birat Jung Shahi, Dipak Khatiwada and Dirgha Bahadur KC won the Vice President election. Lama secured 48 votes, Shahi and Khatiwada won 47 each and KC received 43 votes. They edged past Sundar Narsingh Joshi (41), Upendra Man Singh (37), Bigyan Raj Sharma (37) and Ratna Kumar Shrestha (36).

Sarila Shrestha and Pema Dolma Lama won the Executive Committee members (women) election. Shrestha won 46 votes while Lama had 43 votes. They defeated Bina Shrestha on 40 votes and Bindra Dewan on 39 votes.

Manish Joshi (48), Anil Malla (47), Rabindra Chand (46), Bikash Narayan Shrestha (44), Bhojraj Shahi (44), Mahendra Chhetri (44), Purushottam Thapa (43), Ramesh Byanjankar (43), Maniraj Bista (42), Tika Ram Lama (41) and Bharat Budh Thapa (40) became the members.

Four candidates—Deepak Thapa Chhetri, Rupesh Adhikari, Dipendra Dhimal and Lokendra Gurung—received 39 votes each. The two remaining members of the Executive Committee will be decided in the next ANFA Congress as per the ANFA statute and suggestions from the FIFA and AFC delegates.

ANFA general congress begins in Kathmandu

The 21st ANFA General Assembly has begun at Hotel Park Village in Kathmandu on Monday.

The assembly will pick new leadership and the executive committee of the football governing body for the next four years.

Incumbent ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa and Senior Vice President Pankaj Bikram Nembang are in the fray for the top post.
