Bangladesh defeat Nepal to lift SAFF U-20 Women's Championship title

Bangladesh secured a comfortable 3-0 victory against Nepal and lifted the title of the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship.

In the final played at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka, Shaheda Akter Ripa, Shamsunnahar and Unnoti Khatun scored for the hosts to lift the title.

Ripa gave Bangladesh the lead in the 42nd minute before Shamsunnahar doubled the lead in the added minutes.

Nepal looked for a way back in the second half but could not find the net. Khatun then added a third three minutes from time to secure the title for Bangladesh.

Nepal defeat India, reach final of SAFF U-20 Women's Championship

Nepal came from behind to defeat India 3-1 and reach the finals of the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship in Dhaka on Tuesday.

India took the lead in the 21st minute through Apurna Narzary but Anjali Chand, Preeti Rai and Amisha Karki all scored for the comeback win.

Chand levelled for Nepal three minutes after the restart and Rai gave the lead in the 69th minute. Karki all but secured Nepal's place in the final with the third goal in the 89th minute.

Nepal will now face hosts and undefeated Bangladesh in the final for the championship.

Amisha Karki's hat-trick secures first win for Nepal

Amisha Karki scored a hat-trick and Preeti Rai added another as Nepal defeated Bhutan in their second match of SAFF U-20 Women's Championship in Dhaka on Sunday.

Karki gave Nepal the lead in the 19th minute and made it 2-0 in the added minutes of the first half. After Preeti Rai made it 3-0 in the 61st, Karki scored Nepal's fourth and completed her hat-trick two minutes after Rai's goal.

Nepal had lost its opening match against Bangladesh by 3-1. Nepal now should win against India to make it to the final of the competition.

ANFA signs accident and medical insurance agreement with Shikhar Insurance

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has signed an insurance agreement with Shikhar Insurance Company Limited to cover the Group Personal Accident and Group Medical Insurance of A Division League players.

The agreement was signed by ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai and Shikhar Insurance Assistant General Manager Prarthana Shahi at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Sunday.

As per the agreement, Shikhar Insurance will provide an amount of Rs 1 million if a player dies in an accident. It will also cover Rs 500,000 as medical expenses for the first five players and Rs 150,000 for the remaining players of the league injured in an accident.

As agreed with the A division clubs during previous meetings, ANFA will pay the premium of national team players while the remaining players' premium will have to be played by the respective club.

The agreement between the two sides will be valid for a year.
