A total of 28 players have been called up to the initial squad of U-17 national women's team for the SAFF U17 Women's Championship 2023 to be held in Bangladesh from March 20-31.
Head coach Bhagawati Rana Magar, appointed by ANFA for the competition, announced her initial squad on Thursday. Rana had led the U-15 national women's team to the historic title of SAFF U-15 Women's Championship held in Bangladesh.
South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) is staging the tournament under the UEFA Assist Programme.
An open selection was organized by ANFA from for five days on January 26, 27, 31 and February 1 and 2 at ANFA Complex to select players for the tournament.

ANFA President and newly elected member of AFC Executive Committee Pankaj Bikram Nembang has arrived home after taking part in the 33rd AFC Congress in Bahrain.
President Nembang was welcomed by ANFA Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, Vice President Birat Jung Shahi, Ex-Co member Maniraj Bista, General Secretary Kiran Rai, Treasurer Rabindra Joshi, ANFA staffs and others upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday.
Nembang was elected to the committee under the South Zone and will serve for the next four years.

Five FIFA Referees and seven FIFA Assistant Referees received their refereeing badges for 2023 on Wednesday.
Referees Anjana Rai, Nabindra Maharjan, Kabin Byanjankar, Prajwol Chhetri and Prakash Nath Shrestha received FIFA Referee badges while Radhika Shakya, Nani Ram Thapa Magar, Madhav KC, Yunal Malla, Sahadev Shrestha, Bikram Chaudhary and Kishan Kanayha Yadav received FIFA Assistant Referee badges amid a special function at ANFA Complex.
ANFA Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Kiran Rai and ANFA Referee Association Chairperson Buddhi Bahadur Gurung distributed the badges to the referees.
ANFA Referee Association General Secretary Balaram Thapa, Treasurer Sachin Amatya and member Sailesh Joshi were also present in the distribution programme.

All Nepal Football President (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang has been elected as the member of the AFC Executive Committee.
Nembang was elected to the committee under the South Zone during the 33rd AFC Congress in Bahrain on Wednesday.
AFC elected its Executive Committee for the term 2023 to 2027 during the Congress.
Incumbent President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa was elected unopposed for the AFC Presidency.
