ANFA bids farewell to U-20 national women's team

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has bid farewell to the U-20 national women's team flying to Bangladesh for the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship.

The farewell programme was held at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Tuesday.

ANFA acting President and Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, Vice President Birat Jung Shahi, Ex-Co members Purushottam Thapa, Pema Dolma Lama and Sarila Shrestha and General Secretary Kiran Rai were present in the programme.

Speaking in the farewell programme, acting ANFA President and Senior Vice President Khadka and ANFA General Secretary Rai wished the team well in the championship.

The team will take part in the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship to be held in Dhaka from February 3-9, 2023.

Final squad:

43 players called up for national women's team training

Forty-three players have been called up for the upcoming friendly against India.

Head coach of the national women's team Ananta Raj Thapa announced his preliminary squad for the friendly on Monday.

The national women's team closed camp will begin from Tuesday at ANFA Complex.

Ananta Raj Thapa appointed head coach of national women's team

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has appointed Ananta Raj Thapa as the Head Coach of national women's team for the upcoming international friendly against India.

ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai handed Thapa the letter of appointment at ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Sunday.

Suraj Kumar Lama will be the Goalkeeping Coach while Brinda Dewan has been appointed as the Team Manager for the friendly.

The national women's team will play friendly against India. The match will be played in between February 13 to 25 in India.

Dates of knockout tournaments confirmed

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has approved dates for the organization of various knockout football tournaments in the country.

As per the dates, the Rajarshi Janak Gold Cup and Mayor Cup Football Tournament will be played in Sarlahi and Mahottari districts respectively from February 9 to February 18. The tournaments will be followed by Makwanpur Gold Cup in Makwanpur from February 12 to February 21.

Bhadrapur Gold Cup will be played in Bhadrapur, Jhapa and Tilottama Gold Cup will be played in Rupandehi from February 19 to February 28. KP Oli Cup in Kathmandu will be held from February 23 to March 1.

Budasubba Gold Cup in Sunsari has been approved from February 25 to March 4 followed by Mai Valley Gold Cup in Ilam and Itahari Gold Cup in Itahari from March 18 to March 25.

Birat Gold Cup in Morang and Simara Gold Cup in Bara will be final knockout tournaments from March 23 to April 1.
