ANFA awarded with AFC Coaching Convention B Level certificate

Asian Football Federation (AFC) has awarded All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) with AFC Coaching Convention B Level certificate.

The award is a huge step for the future of Nepali football. It allows ANFA to award coaches with B accreditation without asking for support (instructor) from the AFC. Historically AFC would send instructors and every MA across Asia have the same course.

ANFA now has a group of instructors capable of supporting the delivery of all courses up to B licence level and soon some of these Nepali instructors will be confident enough to deliver our courses and provide coaching assessments.

The membership also allows ANFA to design its own course, adapt to its environment and direction which is Nepal's own playing style and identity. ANFA can now proudly develop its own way of playing.

It is also going to have a massive impact on our youth development programme such as the recently established U-13 academies. The academies now have a clear youth development programme specifically designed to produce players based on our style of football.

Machhindra jump to second after victory over Jawalakhel

Defending champions Machhindra Football Club (MFC) has moved up to second in the table after a 2-0 victory over struggling Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Wednesday.
An own goal from defender Simanta Thapa and Ranjit Dhimal's free-kick sealed the victory for MFC. Thapa deflected the ball into his own net in the 14th minute. MFC thought they had equalized through Nicholas Fernandes in the 19th minute but was ruled offside.
Two minutes later after that disallowed goal, Dhimal struck the net with a beautifully placed free-kick.
MFC's coach Prabesh Katuwal said walking away with all three points against JYC was a big one for his team. "We have watched Jawalakhel's game from the start and they are a strong side. This victory is going to build up some confidence for my players," said Katuwal.
JYC's coach Kishor Kumar KC was critical of his goalkeeper Tikendra Singh Thapa's mistakes in both the goals. "I think our goalkeeper's mistakes led us conceding goals. Our goalkeepers are inexperienced and that reflected in today's match. We are also deluded from that scoring touch," said KC whose side are the only team who are yet to score in the league.
The fourth round of matches will begin at Dasharath Stadium from Friday.

Himalayan Sherpa, Nepal police share points after 1-1 draw

Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) and Nepal Police Club (NPC) shared points after playing out a 1-1 draw in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Wednesday.

HSC's Bishwash Shrestha's goal in the first minute was cancelled by Nepal Police's Suman Lama in the 60th.

HSC coach Yugal Kishor Rai said they had prepared well for the game against NPC but could not play as they wanted. "Having watched the opposition's game, we had trained accordingly. But we could not play as planned," said Rai.

NPC's coach Ananta Raj Thapa said it is almost impossible for teams to win every match given the quality of clubs in the league. "We came under pressure after conceding so early but came back into the match. It is better to earn single point in the match rather than losing all," he said.

Chyasal Youth Club will look to level points with leaders Satdobato Youth Club when they face pointless Jawalakhel Youth Club in the second match today.
