A solitary goal from Bharat Khawas proved to be the difference as Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) registered their first win of the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 against Brigade Boys Club (BBC) on Sunday.
Khawas scored five minutes before full time to give the win for TAFC. TAFC also ended BBC's unbeaten start to the season. BBC had won 3-2 against APF Football Club and played goalless draw against New Road Team in the previous two matches.
TAFC meanwhile are unbeaten having played a 1-1 draw against department rivals Nepal Police Club and goalless draw against defending champions Machhindra Football Club.
TAFC's coach Nabin Neupane said it was vital for the team to win three points today. "We had to win to stay in title race and I am glad we are now back in the title race. We will put pressure on the teams above us," said Neupane. He said there were still some problems in the team's attacking zone and hope to rectify in upcoming matches.
BBC's coach Sanoj Shrestha said defenders costly mistake helped Khawas to score in the final minutes. "Our target was to snatch at least a point against Army which is a very strong team in the league. We have fought well but were denied by a simple defensive lapse," he said.
Himalayan Sherpa will play against Nepal Police Club in the first match at 1 pm on Wednesday while Jawalakhel Youth Club will take on Machhindra Club in the second match at 4:45pm to conclude the third round.

Chyasal Youth Club (CYC) and New Road Team (NRT) shared points after a 1-1 draw in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Saturday. Substitute Dipesh Ghale equalized for NRT in the 69th minute a minute after entering into the pitch after Rumesh Bartaula gave CYC the lead in the 43rd through a volley. NRT's coach Raju Kaji Shakya said they had to be content with a single point after today's game. "We wanted all three points. Our formation was good and we played well but could not score early. Our forwards have been misfiring and have not been able to unleash their potential," said Shakya. CYC's Bal Gopal Sahukhala praised NRT's performance and bemoaned his team's average performance. "We were defensively solid but our performance was only satisfactory and not in the same way we wanted," said Sahukhala. Brigade Boys Club will play against Tribhuvan Army Football Club in the only match on Sunday. The match will be played at 4:45 pm at Dasharath Stadium.

Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) missed chance to go to the top of the league after playing a 2-2 draw against Sankata Club (SC) in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Saturday.
Just when it looked like SC was going to inflict first defeat on MMC, Franklin Kuete Talla scored in the final minute of added time to snatch a point for MMC.
SC had taken the lead through Niraj Basnet in the 31st minute but Dayananda Singh equalized for MMC four minutes later. SC retook the lead through Uttam Rai in the 70th minute and were close to victory before Talla's half volley shot sailed into the net.
MMC's coach Rajendra Tamang said they lost rhythm in today's match and came under pressure. "Sankata had good ball possession and we gave them chances. We made mistakes while defending and our experienced players failed to lead the line," said Tamang.
SC's Bishnu Gurung was delighted by the team's performance. "We executed as per our plan against MMC. But a lapse in concentration in the last 30 or so seconds let the points through our hands. Still we have nothing to lose and there are plenty of matches to play," said Gurung.
Chyasal Youth Club will play against New Road Team in the other match of the day today.

Satdobato Youth Club moved to the top of the table with a thumping 4-1 win over pointless APF Football Club in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Friday.
Satdobato's Martins Kayode Ajayi scored a hat-trick and Sushil Rai scored another in the biggest win so far this season. It is also the first hat-trick of the ongoing league.
Martins gave Satdobato the lead in the 43rd minute and doubled the advantage in the fifth minute of first half added time. Satdobato's Karan Rawat scored an own goal to halve the advantage in the 49th but Rai scored to restore the two goal cushion a minute later.
Eight minutes after Rai's goal Martins completed his hat-trick and ensured the thumping win for Satdobato.
Sankata Club will play against Manang Marsyangdi Club in the first match on Saturday while Chyasal Youth Club will play against New Road Team in the second match.
