Basnet's solitary goal earns Sankata win over Nepal Police

Niraj Basnet scored the only goal as Sankata Club defeated Nepal Police Club (NPC) in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Monday.

Basnet scored in the 18th minute to give Sankata the win in the league. The win propels Sankata to fourth in the table while NPC are seventh.

Sankata's head coach Bishnu Gurung said he was happy with the result. "We created chances in the first 20 mins and scored the goal. We then focused on saving that three point," said Gurung.

NPC's Ananta Raj Thapa said it was unfortunate for them lose the game but will move on despite the result. "We played two games in two halves. We only improved after substitutions were made," said Thapa.

Jawalakhel Youth Club will play against Brigade Boys Club in the other match at 4:45 pm today.

Manang Marsyangdi Club to play league matches in Pokhara

Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) will play their fifth, seventh and eighth round fixtures of Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 in Pokhara Stadium.

MMC's matches against Nepal Police Club (5th round), Brigade Boys Club (7th round) and Chyasal Youth Club (9th round) will be played in Pokhara.

The fixtures from fifth to ninth round of matches have also been released.

Three Star drop more points after APF draw

Three Star Club (TSC) dropped more points after a goalless draw against APF Football Club in the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League 2021/22 on Sunday. 
TSC now have five points from four games and are fifth in the league table. APF meanwhile scored their first point of the current season.
APF were a better team throughout the game but could not find that finishing touch in the game. 
TSC coach Rabindra Silakar said they came under pressure in the match today. "We had an offensive mentality from the start and came under pressure. We could not perform as we wanted," said Silakar.
APF coach Kumar Thapa said they are happy with the single point they took from today's match and hopefully will improve in coming matches. "My players are giving their best. That is a positive mentality from today's game. We should have won today's game. We dominated the game, created chances but could not score," said Thapa.
Sankata Club will play against Nepal Police Club in the first match on Monday at 1 pm while Jawalakhel Youth Club will take on Brigade Boys Club in the other match at 4:45 pm.

Nepal begin U-19 campaign with Bangladesh draw

Nepal shared points with hosts Bangladesh after playing out a goalless draw in their opening match of the SAFF U-19 Women's Championship on Saturday.

In the match at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka, Nepali defenders shut out Bangladesh attack with skipper and goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar making crucial saves in multiple occasions.

Nepal will play its second match against Sri Lanka on Wednesday and against Bhutan on December 17. The final group game will be against India on December 19.

Bhutan had defeated Sri Lanka 5-0 in the opening match on Saturday.
