Three Star Club outlined their title credentials with a thumping 3-0 victory over Chyasal Youth Club in an entertaining match at Dasharath Stadium. Nishan Khadka, Raphael Bidias Rim and Ananta Tamang scored for Three Star in the win. Khadka opened the scoring with a sumptuous free-kick in the 22nd minute. Three Star's coach Urjan Shrestha said it was vital for them to win the first match of the league and they did exactly they wanted. "We came under pressure at the start but goals helped us. The penalty save also helped build our confidence which hopefully we could carry on to the next matches," said Shrestha. Friends draw with Satdobato as A Division League begins

Friends Club and newcomers Satdobato Youth Club played a goalless draw as the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League began at Dasharath Stadium from Friday.

Friends Club were down to 10 men but managed to secure a point despite Satdobato romping up the pressure late on. Friends Club's Ronell Anthony Paul was sent off in the 76th minute after a double yellow card offence.

Friends Club's goalkeeper Rahul Ramchandra Yadav was busier among the two goalkeepers as he was forced into action making multiple saves. Both the side wasted scoring opportunities to break the deadlock.

Satdobato's coach Meghraj KC said he was not happy with the single point from today's game. "We lacked experience to play. It was like a training match where the opposition keeper was tested but not beaten. But this is the opening match and we will improve as we move forward in the league," said KC.

Friends Club's Mrigendra Mishra said unnecessary cards cost them in today's game. "We could not play as we wanted but this is a league we are happy with the result," he said. Mishra said they could not convert the scoring opportunities. "We played well despite being a man down but taking a point from this game is also a good result," he added.

Himalayan Sherpa Club will play against Sankata Club in the first match and Chyasal Youth Club will taken Three Star Club.
