KWS Planning Boys United opened up a four-point lead at the top of the Martyr's Memorial B Division League 2081 after edging Birgunj United with a dramatic last-minute penalty on Sunday.
Capitalizing on second-placed Shree Bhagawati Club’s draw against Shree Tusal Youth Club, Planning Boys secured a crucial victory over third-placed Birgunj in a tightly contested encounter.
The decisive moment came deep into stoppage time when Fagu Ram Tharu was brought down inside the box by Bikas Das Tharu in the sixth minute of added time. Fagu Ram stepped up and calmly converted the penalty, sealing all three points for Planning Boys.
With the win, Planning Boys sit atop the standings with 22 points from eight matches. Shree Bhagawati trail with 18 points, while Birgunj remain third with 12 points.

Brigade Boys Union edged Madhyapur Youth Association 1-0, while Shree Kumari Club registered a similar 1-0 win over Jhapa Football Club in the Martyr's Memorial B Division League 2081 on Sunday.
In the first match of the day, played under heavy rain at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Brigade Boys secured a late winner, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error. Ashish Gurung's shot, which appeared to be an easy save, slipped through the hands of Madhyapur goalkeeper Amar Bahadur Newar and rolled into the net, sealing the win for Brigade Boys.
In the second match, Shree Kumari clinched all three points with a first-half goal. Binod Dhamala scored the decisive goal in the 25th minute, which proved enough to secure victory against Jhapa.
