Pakistan shock Nepal in SAFF U17 Championship 2024

Nepal suffered a surprising 1-0 defeat to Pakistan in their opening match of the SAFF U17 Championship 2024 in Bhutan.

After a goalless first half, Pakistan took the lead in the 81st minute through Muhammad Talha at Changlimithang Stadium.

Nepal will look to recover in their next match against Sri Lanka on Monday, who lost 5-1 to Bhutan in their opening game.

Nepal lose to Cambodia in the AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Nepal faced a tough defeat in their opening match of the AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers, falling 4-1 to Cambodia in Chinese Taipei on Saturday.

The Cambodian team dominated the match at Fu Jen University in New Taipei. Vreak Phan opened the scoring in just the third minute, followed by Phoeuk Thatthai, who doubled their advantage four minutes later.

Nepal's Samir Tamang managed to pull one back with a header in stoppage time of the first half.

However, Cambodia responded strongly in the second half, with substitute Mean Chanrith scoring the team's third goal in the 61st minute.

Eav Sovannara capped off the victory with a goal in the 83rd minute, making it 4-1.

Nepal will look to bounce back in their next match against hosts Chinese Taipei on Monday.

Sankata hit six past Sudurpaschim, Police down Waling

Sankata FC defeated Sudurpaschim Province 6-0 in the ANFA Women's League 2081 on Saturday.

The league returned to Dasharath Stadium, where Nepal Police Club also secured a 2-0 win against Waling Municipality.

Temilope Jeniffer Owoeye was the star for Sankata, scoring four goals. She opened the scoring in the fourth minute and doubled the lead in the 12th.

Jeniffer completed her hat-trick in the 53rd minute. Mamta Pun and Purnima Hamal added goals in the 84th and 87th minutes, respectively, before Jeniffer converted a penalty in the fifth minute of added time.

In the second match, Nepal Police Club worked hard for a 2-0 victory over Waling Municipality.

Samjhana Lawati was the key player, scoring both goals for Police.

She found the net in the 67th minute and added her second in the first minute of stoppage time to secure the win.

Departmental side rain goals in respective wins

APF FC crushed Koshi Province 8-0, while Tribhuvan Army FC delivered a stunning 10-0 victory over Chandrapur Municipality in the ANFA Women's League 2081 on Friday.

Rashi Kumari Ghising was the standout performer for APF, netting five goals, while Anita Basnet added a brace.

Anita KC also contributed with a goal, rounding off a dominant display.

In the second match, hat-tricks from Amisha Karki and Chandra Bhandari propelled Army to their impressive 10-goal performance against Chandrapur.

Dipa Shahi scored twice, and goalkeeper Anjana Rana Magar converted a penalty. Substitute Sharmila Thapa also found the net, completing a remarkable victory for the Army.
