Uzbekistan defeats Nepal in AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers

Nepal suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat to Uzbekistan in their third match of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers on Wednesday.

Saidnurullayev Saidumarkhon scored twice, while Nurlan Ibraimov, Lazizbek Mirzaev, Meyirbek Rejabaliev, and Haydarov Abdugafur each added one goal for Uzbekistan.

Nepal had previously lost to Cambodia in their opening match but bounced back with a victory over Chinese Taipei in their second game. They will face Bahrain on Friday.

Nepal reach SAFF U17 Championship semi-final with victory over Bhutan

Nepal secured their place in the semi-final of the SAFF U17 Championship with a 2-1 victory over Bhutan on Wednesday.

Anything other than a victory would have eliminated Nepal from the tournament.

Bhutan went ahead through Yonten Tharchen after a mistake by Nepali goalkeeper Pemba Norbu Bhote just ahead of the half-time.

Krishna Bahadur Ale levelled the score in the 56th minute before Sujan Dangol scored the winner in the 85th minute of the match.

Nepal will face India in the semi-final on Saturday.

Sameer Tamang inspires Nepal to first victory

Sameer Tamang led Nepal to their first win in the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 Qualifiers, defeating Chinese Taipei 3-1.

Tamang was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick.

He opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and quickly added a second just three minutes later. Although Yang Chao-Jing pulled one back for Taipei, Tamang sealed the victory with his third goal six minutes from time.

Nepal will face Uzbekistan and Bahrain in their remaining two matches of the competition.

SAFF U17 Championship: Nepal bounces back with victory over Sri Lanka

Nepal rebounded from their surprising loss to Pakistan in their opening match of the SAFF U17 Championship 2024 in Bhutan, securing a convincing 4-0 victory over Sri Lanka on Monday.

Sujan Dangol was the standout player, scoring a hat-trick. He opened the scoring in the fourth minute, doubled the lead in the 12th, and completed his hat-trick in the 30th minute.

Bigyan Khadka added a fourth goal in the 84th minute.

Nepal now faces Bhutan in a must-win match on Wednesday to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
