Final squad for U-17 national team finalized (Update)

The final squad for U-17 national team has been finalized.

Head coach Urjan Shrestha had finalized 24 players on Sunday. Samir Tamang has been left out from the squad which is flying to Sri Lanka on Friday to take part in the SAFF U-17 Championship.

The team will also take part in the 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualification.

Final squad:

Goalkeepers: Krishal Moktan, Samir Chand, Rubin Bogati

Defenders: Aswin Ghorasainee, Semanta Thapa, Unesh Budathoki, Madan Paudel, Dipak Thapa Magar, Nishant Tamang, Yunish Magar, Bikram Tamang, Pritam Karki, Dhiraj Bishwakarma

Anil Shrestha appointed team manager of national men's team

Anil Shrestha has been appointed as the team manager of national men's football team.

ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai welcomed Shrestha and handed him the appointment letter on Sunday at ANFA Complex.

Shrestha has previously worked as team manager of League Champions Machhindra Football Club. He is also the Vice President of the league champions.

Shrestha, speaking to ANFA Media, said he was delighted to take the responsibility of the national team. "I have worked as team manager before but it was on club level. Team manager of the national team is of another level. I know it is challenging but I will give my best," said Shrestha.

Shrestha's first job in his new role will be against the international friendly against Bangladesh on September 27 at Dasharath Stadium.

Final squad for SAFF Women's Championship confirmed

The final squad for upcoming SAFF Women's Championship 2022 to be held in Kathmandu from September 6 to 19 has been confirmed. 

Head coach Kumar Thapa finalized his 23 member squad on Saturday.

Nepal have been drawn against Bhutan and Sri Lanka in Group B of the competition. Defending champions India are pitted against Maldives, Bangladesh and Pakistan in Group A. 

Nepal will play against Bhutan in the opening match on September 6 followed by against Sri Lanka on September 12. The top two teams from each group will play in the semi final match.

ANFA community course begins in Dhankuta

A three day community course organised by All Nepal Football Association has begun in Dhankuta district. 

Mayor of Dhankuta municipality Chintan Tamang who was the chief guest in the opening session on Thursday. 

Thirty-two participants are taking party the course. The course is being instructed by Head of Coach Education Sanjit Singh with assist from Bhagwati Rana Magar. 

The course will conclude on Sunday.
