Four teams have qualified so far for the knockout stage of the Deputy Mayor Cup National Women’s League Qualifiers 2078.
Kankai Municipality Jhapa, Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan City, Bansgadhi Municipality Bardiya and Shivasatakshi Municipality Jhapa have made into the next round of the tournament.
With two wins and a draw, Kankai Municipality Jhapa edged out Bagmati Municipality Sarlahi in Group A on goal difference after both the teams were locked with seven points from three matches.
In Group B, Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan City won one and drew another to secure top spot with four points. Group C saw Bansgadhi Municipality Bardiya secure top spot with two wins from two while Shivasatakshi Municipality Jhapa, from Group D, also qualified with cent percent result.
The group stage games will continue until November 1 and the knockout games will begin from November 8.

Nepal lost 4-0 to Iran in their first match of the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Monday.
Hossein Nokhodkar scored a brace and Mehdi Lamouchitaraji and Yasin Salmani scored the other two goals for Iran.

After a goalless first half, Lamouchitaraji opened the scoring a minute into the second half. Nokhodkar scored his first in the 77th and added the team's third two minutes after his first goal. Skipper Salmani scored the fourth three minutes into the stoppage time to wrap up the victory.
Nepal will now play its second match against hosts Tajikistan on October 28. Nepal's third and final group match will be against Lebanon on October 31.

Deputy Mayor Cup National Women's League Qualifiers 2078 has begun at ANFA Complex, Satdobato, from Thursday.
Lalitpur Metropolitan City's deputy mayor Gita Satyal inaugurated the event by handing over the match ball to the officials.
A total of 31 teams are taking part in the competition.
In the opening match, Bagmati Municipality Sarlahi defeated Mahalaxmi Municipality Lalitpur 9-0. Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored five, Renuka Nagarkote hit a brace and Anu Rai and Sadipa Bholan scored once each for Bagmati.
In the second match, Kusum Khatiwada scored six, Laxmi Shrestha scored four and Manika Tumruk and Ema Rai scored one each for Kankai Municipality Jhapa as they thrashed Godawari Municipality Kathmandu 12-0.
In the third game of the day, Kalika Municipality Chitwan defeated Kageshwori Manahara Municipality Kathmandu 10-0. Anuska Sherpa scored four, Samjhana Tamang and Sabita Rana Magar scored two each and Preeti Rai and Sunkala Rai scored once for Kalika.
Top two finalists of the competition will qualify for the National Women's League.
