Rising Club extend lead at the top, Sankhamul win first game

The Rising Club Dharan continued winning streak in the 'A' Division National Futsal League with a 5-3 win over Jharna Sports Club on Wednesday.

Rising Club continued on the top spot with nine points from three points while Jharna are pointless in the table.

Milan Rai scored twice and Milan Limbu, Rewosh Maskey and Biku Tamang scored one each for Rising Club. Mohan Bahadur Thapa Magar, Om Prakash Thapa and Bibek Thapa got into the scoresheet for Jharna.

In the second game, having drawn twice in previous games, Sankhamul Futsal won their first game defeating Prabhatpheri Youth Club 7-4.

Jenish Prajapati scored a hat-trick, Mani Lama scored twice and Susaan Shrestha scored once for Sankhamul. Bottom placed Prabhatpheri scored through Srijesh Puri and Dhiraj Joshi who both scored twice each.

Sankhamul climbed to second in the table after the win.

Machhindra Sky Goals will face Sabin Memorial on Thursday's first game. The second and third game will be between Sports Castle vs Dhuku Futsal Hub and Lumbini Futsal vs Futsal 5 Dharan respectively.

Nepal end AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers with Hong Kong draw

Nepal ended their AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers campaign with a draw against Hong Kong on Tuesday.

The result also meant Nepal's hopes of playing the AFC Cup came to an end.

In the match at the JAR Stadium in Tashkent, Nepal held plenty of possession but were unable to find the break the deadlock.

Nepal had lost its first match against Philippines. Nepal lead much of the match against Philippines but were denied victory after two late goals.

Sankhamul play out another draw, Sabin Memorial, Futsal 5 win

Sankhamul Futsal played their second draw in as many matches in the 'A' Division National Futsal League while Sabin Memorial and Futsal 5 Dharan won their respective matches on Tuesday.

Sankhamul played a 2-2 with Sports Castle in the first match of the day. Sports Castle's Kishor Gurung deflected ball into his own net in the sixth minute gave Sankhamul the lead but Bhison Gurung levelled the score in the 13th. Sankhamul's Bibek Pandit and Sports Castle's Anjan Devkota both scored for their respective teams in the 34th minute as the match ended in the draw.

In the second match, Abhinash Tamang, Saroj Gurung and Manish Chhetri scored for Sabin Memorial in their 3-2 win over Lumbini Futsal. Hemanta Gurung scored the brace for Lumbini.

Dhuku Futsal Hub were downed 5-3 by Futsal 5 Dharan after a brace by Prabesh Joshi and one each by Sandip Karki, Saroj Tamang and Ranjit Gurung. Having won the first match, Dhuku's Amit Lama, Bikrant Narsingh Rana and Abhay Rana scored for them but the side were unable to prevent the team from losing the match.

Table-toppers The Rising Club will play against Jharna Sports Club in the first match and Sankhamul will look for their first three points against winless Prabhatpheri Youth Club.

Nepal to play friendly against Oman in Qatar

Nepali men's national team will play a friendly against Oman national team in Qatar on September 26.

The friendly will be played at Qatar University football ground in Doha at 7 pm local time.

The national team is currently in closed camp training in Qatar to prepare for SAFF Championship which begins from October 1 in Maldives.
