The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) today held a press conference, introducing newly appointed head coach of Nepal, Mr. Johan Kali to the media.
Addressing to the media, Kalin thanked the ANFA for the opportunity.
“I am truly honored and blessed to return to Nepal as a head coach for the national team. I want to thank ANFA for the opportunity,” said Johan.
The Swedish coach earlier in 2014, had led the ‘A’ Division outfits Machhindra FC to second-place in the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League.
Johan Kalin will serve the national team as a head coach for two-years.
“I am very excited to work with the talented young players in Nepal. My first task with the team will be the friendly match against Malaysia on 26 March 2019.”
“I don’t promise but obviously, there are many things to talk and discuss with the FA as we continue to move forward,” he added.
The ANFA Ex.co meeting held on Jan 17 2019 made the hiring of the Swedish official.
The contract will however be effective from 1st March 2019.
Kalin holds UEFA A Diploma Coach Certificate.
22 February 2019 - Two second half strike from Nawaraj Gurung and Sahil KC proved enough for Rani Pokhari Team (RCT) to beat Jhamsikhel Youth Club 2-0 in the Martyr’s Memorial ‘B’ Division match played today at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato.
The first goal for RCT arrived in 48th minute with Nawaraj Gurung. Sahil KC sealed the victory for RCT scoring in the final injury minutes.
Likewise, Pulchowk Sports Club came from two goals down to draw with Tusal Yuba Club in the second match.
Tika Raj Gurung's second half brace earned Pulchowk Sports draw with Tushal Yuba.
Gurung scored in 55th and 85th minute for Pulchowk.
Karan Rawat and Kashim Rai scored for Tushal earlier in 13th and 16th minute respectively.
20 February 2019 - Khumaltar Yuba Club registered their first win of the Martyr's Memorial 'B' Division as they beat Pulchowk Sports Club 3-1 today at the ANFA Complex.
Pulchowk Sports Club led in the early fifth minute with Tika Raj Gurung but Niran Shrestha scored an excellent equalizer for Khumaltar Yuba Club shortly in the 28th minute.
Khumaltar drove through gears after the interval and Ashik Pariyar in the 54th minute helped them to put in front.
Sabin KC added a third on the counter-attack for Khumaltar in the final injury minute.
The result means Khumaltar registered their first win in the League.
Meanwhile, the other day match between Satdobato Youth Club and RCT ended goalless draw.
19 February 2019 - Alon Rai scored a penalty as Tushal Yuba Club moved top of Group ‘B’ with 10 points from four matches while Jhamsikhel toiled hard to beat Shree Kumari 2-1today in the Martyr’s Memorial ‘B’ Division League.
Rai scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 45+1’ minute after Madhyapur Youth Association was penalized for a foul to Rai himself inside the box.
Likewise, Jhamsikhel Youth Club managed to beat Shree Kumari Club 2-1 in the other match of the day, thanks to Yagya Pradhan (84') for an late own goal.
Bhuwan Rai had put Jhamsikhel Youth Club ahead in the 5th minute.
Jhamshikel dominated the possession in the second half and went close to scoring several times but failed in each occasions.
Earlier, Bibek rai had equalized the score for Shree Kumari in 49th minute.
