Nepal face Qatar, Bahrain, Bangladesh and Bhutan in AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Nepal will play against Qatar, Bahrain, Bangladesh and Bhutan in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held from September 10 to 18 in Bahrain.

The draw for the tournament was held on Tuesday.

Nepal will play its first match against Bhutan on September 10 and second match against Qatar on September 12. The third match will be against Bahrain on September 14 and fourth against Bangladesh on September 18.

The 10 group winners and the five best runners-up will join hosts Uzbekistan in the 2023 Finals.

National team bid farewell for AFC Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) had bid farewell to the members of the national football team flying for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers at Vivanta Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The team will fly to Qatar on Wednesday for a closed camp before leaving for Kuwait for the tournament.

Speaking at farewell programme, chief guest Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jang Gahatraj, ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa wished the team for the tournament.

Final squad:

Goalkeepers: Deep Karki, Bishal Sunar, Tikendra Singh Thapa

Defenders: Bikash Khawas, Bikash Tamang, Gautam Shrestha, Rajan Gurung, Shiva Gurung, Suman Aryal

Midfielders: Akash Buda Magar, Arik Bista, Nir Kumar Rai, Pujan Uperkoti, Roshan Rana Magar, Santosh Tamang, Sesehang Angdembe, Sunil Bal, Suraj Jeu Thakuri

Forwards: Ayush Ghalan, Darshan Gurung, George Prince Karki, Manish Dangi, Nawayug Shrestha

Nepal drawn alongside Thailand, Vietnam and Chinese Taipei in AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Nepal have been drawn alongside Thailand, Vietnam and Chinese Taipei in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

The draw was held virtually on Tuesday.

Nepal will play its first match against Thailand on October 5. Their second match will be against hosts Vietnam on October 7 followed by against Chinese Taipei on October 9.

Karma Tsering Sherpa files nomination for ANFA presidency

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa has filed his nomination for ANFA Presidential election to be held on June 20.

Sherpa's bid for presidency was proposed by Machhindra Football Club's Sunil Kapali and seconded by Rupandehi District Football Association's Lok Bahadur Pun.

Sherpa's panel has also filed their nomination at ANFA Election Office at ANFA Complex.

Shixit Parajuli has filed his nomination for senior vice president while Upendra Man Singh, Bigyan Raj Sharma, Dirgha Bahadur KC and Ratna Kumar Shrestha are vying for vice president.

Similarly, Dipak Thapa, Prabin Yadav, Rupesh Adhikari, Lokendra Gurung, Ramraja Gurung, Tikaram Lama, Pradesh Singh Rathour, Bharat Buda Thapa, Anil Shrestha, Ramesh Byanjankar, Maniraj Bista and Manish Joshi filed their nomination for members.
