Biratnagar Metropolitan City Morang registered their first win of the National Women's League with a 5-0 win over Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat.
Kusum Khatiwada scored a hattrick for Biratnagar in the big win. Anu Rai and Sarita Sherpa scored the other two goals.
Khatiwada opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Rai scored in the 32nd minute to make it 2-0 before the break.
Sherpa scored in the 63rd minute and Khatiwada scored two goals in two minutes to complete her hattrick. She scored her second in the 69th and added her third a minute later.
The closest Chandrapur came to scoring was when Sabita Rana Magar hit the upright in the 56th minute.
Biratnagar coach Paras Chaudhary said their attacking strategy worked in today's game. "Our players were nervous while playing against departmental teams. But today we played well," said Chaudhary. Player of the Match Khatiwada said she was happy to contribute to the team in today's win.
Chandrapur assistant coach Chitra Darlami Magar said they were not expecting such a heavy loss. "We have defensive problems as our key defenders are injured. That has badly affected our game," he said.
With the win, Biratnagar leapfrog Chandrapur to fourth place with four points. Chandrapur lie fifth with three points.

Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) moved four points clear at the top of the table with a deserving win over departmental rivals Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) on Tuesday.
In the second match of the day played at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Anjali Yonjan and Saru Limbu scored for APF to continue their winning streak in the league. APF now have won three games in a row scoring a total of 15 goals without conceding any.
Yonjan opened the scoring in the 27th minute finding the top-right corner after being provided by Sabitra Bhandari. Bhandari again found Limbu in the added minutes of first half for the second goal.
TAFC were mostly pegged back during the game and were not able to threaten the APF's goalline. TAFC remain third
APF's coach Bhagwati Thapa said today's win helped them build confidence but with plenty games remaining they were not focusing on the title as of now. "We still have plenty of games left and teams improving after each match, title race is far from over," said Thapa.
TAFC's coach Raju Tamang said they were not able to create goal scoring opportunities and their midfield failed to feed the forwards. "They also scored early which made my players further nervous. We now need to improve our performance in remaining nine matches to get back on the title race," said Tamang.
Chandrapur Municipality Rautahat will play against Biratnagar Metropolitan City in the only game on Wednesday.

Nepal Police Club came from behind to play a 1-1 draw against Waling Municipality Syangja in the National Women's League match on Tuesday.
NPC's Rekha Poudel cancelled the lead Waling had taken through their Cameroonian player Metho Eludie Ruth.
After an uneventful first half with few chances for both sides, Ruth scored in the 53rd minute with a crisp left-footed finish. The lead lasted only for another 13 minutes when Poudel capitalized miscommunication between Waling's goalkeeper and defender to dink over the goalkeeper.
Poudel had squandered an opportunity in the 29th minute of first half when she beat the offside trap but failed to convert in one-on-one situation against Waling's goalkeeper. Waling's Metho's shot in the 31st minute had gone past NPC's goalkeeper but was cleared off the line by NPC's Puja Rana.
NPC Coach Sanjiv Joshi said they were unlucky to score when chances arrived. "We should have won today but we could not convert the chances we created," said Joshi.
Waling Coach Dilip Thapa said he was happy to stop the departmental side and earn a point. "We can improve further. We need to strike the right balance between the players," said Thapa.
The draw means NPC lie second in the table with five points, a point lead over Tribhuvan Army Football Club (TAFC) who play Armed Police Force in the second match of the day. TAFC can leapfrog NPC for second spot if they win against undefeated APF who claim the top spot with six points from two matches.
Waling lie in the fifth place with two points from three matches.
